I got a laptop which i bought couple of weeks ago, so i tried to stick me CM onto my laptop. It finds that the CM is there but it won't connect to internet. I can't get it to ping nothing but it still thinks the CM is there

any help me ?

Have you registered the MAC address?

if it's NTL and you are using a NIC then do a cold reboot of the cable modem so that NTL will connect you cable modem with your new MAC address.

if it's NTL and USB then do the same.

a cold reboot normally requires the use of a pin during power on but all depends on what cable modem you are using.

you haven't really given us much info like what modem, what provider and what method of connection

Im on NTL, with a US Robotnics 3 com modem

i'll try the reboot thing now and see wh00t happens

its giving me a gay 169 ip which means u can do fuck all. Dunno how to get rid of it ffs
