Hi

Just asking a question for my m8. He has just installed HL and CS for the GENBox, so I have just updated them to the latest version.

Tonight was going to be his first net game of CS/DoD so he was pretty egar. I then got a phone call of him, saying that HL and CS won't start. It says his WONAuth.dll is missing. I suggested re-installing but I have lent all my updates to someone else for a week. So he will have an old, out od ate version. Well the question is, could I give him my WONAuth.dll from my system, untill I give him the update CD's, or does it include my personal WONID etc??

If I can't len'd him hit, is there any where2 he could downlaod the file from, or is it just a fault.

Thanks

Try the one from your system, afaik your registry is the only place your cd-key is kept.

I am just wondering, won't be have the same WONID, or is that file just to connect to WON etc, but not that actual WONID

no.
a dll is a compiled program, just like a exe file, except a dll is called on by other programs, in this case HL(correct me if im wrong).

there's no way info can be contained in a compiled priogram, so i dont see how naything of this nature can happen.

No your wonid is generated by the WON servers by your cdkey.

The won id isnt on your system just the cdkey, and thats in the registry.
