Same as Bowie, didn't even know he was unwell. He missed CIN back in November, that was obviously the start of it.

Such a shame, he was great

Friend of mine worked with him once. He said that while the crew were queuing for food, he offered to let "Sir Terry" go first. Wogan replied along the lines of "my friend, I'll be happy with the scraps you leave, don't worry about it". Seems like he was a top fella.

Unlike other grandees of the BBC, he was always pleasant and unpretentious. Met him a few times back in the day and he was a very nice man.

Also met him, but way back in the eighties when I kid and my auntie was a producer of Woman's Hour. Still remember him jokingly telling my sister off for taking the custard cream biscuit. Genuinely nice guy, RIP.

Close colleague of mine at work has just been diagnosed with inoperable cancer and been given 12-18 months, seems t o be everywhere at the moment :(
