Still, a step in the right direction i think.

No doubt we'll have a report stating this causes cancer/AIDS/lemon parties in the near future though.

anyone else a bit concerned about megawatts of radio flying through their brains? We are already suffering the ill effects of being saturated with RF radiation, cant say I want any more in my home.

I can't help but imagine that if this was to become common throughout homes, there would be knobs on the front of each house with settings for "Defrost, Low Heat (650 Watt), Medium Heat (700 Watt), High Heat (850 Watt)"

We've had Radio 1 saturating our brains for 50 years and still no apparent increase in moronicity. I'd say that's fair proof !

Its a silly idea - at a time when people are starting to worry about energy effeciency their going to try and market an extremely innefficient means of distributing electricity to save people from the trouble of plugging things in???

The magnetic fields associated with electricity transmission have been associated with childhood leukaemia for years now - people are starting to worry about wifi but this would be a lot worse.

On the plus side you can wait till your neighbour gets it then run everything off of his mains ;P

Completely untrue. There is actually no evidence to support the claim that long term exposure to electromagnetic radiation (at power frequency - 50Hz) causes childhood leukemia. At the moment it's purely statistical nonsense.

There are proven biological effects (not necessarily harmful) during short exposures to high power EM radiation but nothing to support the 'daily mail claim' that you have made.

I didnt say that the link was completely proven but the UK Governments own National Radiological Protection Board estimates are that exposure doubles the chances of childhood leukemia:
