I'm looking for a system which uses wireless instead of having cables everywhere. The basic idea would be the subwoofer plugs in. The L+R speaker (doesn't really matter if they are connected), but the back L+R would ideally be wireless so they are easy to position around the room without a trail of wires.

A few products i've found are:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Auna-Wirele...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1345463846&sr=1-1

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rude-Gamewa...3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1345464300&sr=1-3

I have a wireless headset which I think uses the same technology (plugs a usb into the PC) and i think its great.

Does anyone have any experience with this? or know anything about either 2 products?

It's of no use to you because they don't make them anymore but I've had the Creative Gigaworks G550W system since about 5 years ago, they have wireless back speakers and they are absolutely superb. No doubt the wireless technology has improved since then (purists complained about hissing from the rear speakers a bit back then).

Just a quick question, how do you charge the speakers up?

As far as i know the rear 2 come connected as 1 and it has a power connector. I think the term wireless just refers that the rear 2 dont connect to the subwoofer lol, but still has advantages which i can see.

Yeah on mine the rear speakers are physically connected to the rear amp (in the bottom left of the following pic), which is plugged into the wall separately.

The rear amp communicates wirelessly with the desktop control unit thingy (on top of the sub in the pic above) for transmitting the audio signal. The main advantage is that you don't have audio wires trailing from front to back...

Looks like a nice system you have.

I was wondering, do the front speakers plug into the subwoofer. How easy would it be to interchange the system between 2 computers next to each other. Is it as simple as connecting another jack, or is it by any chance USB like wireless headphones?

All 3 front speakers (and the desktop control unit thingy) plug into the back of the sub and then the sub plugs into your soundcard. There are 3 plugs (rear, front and centre/sub) - one of the negatives of this system is no digital input but that doesn't really bother me.

Changing the plugs over on the regular would be a pain but you can plug an external stereo source (3.5mm) into the front of the desktop control unit thingy - I use it to run my laptop's sound through the speakers without disconnecting the PC.
