Catsby has a question that he hopes you can assist with.

Catsby's situation is such:
Small flat, two computers, both wanting connection to the net. Computers in different rooms.
Now, a wireless kit appears the best option to Catsby. However, he fears the potential of pikey neighbours leeching his bandwidth.
He asks is there a foolproof (for Catsby is a fool) way to ensure that only certain computers can access a wireless router? Such as MAC id, or password? Something that allows specific computers access transparantly.

Catsby thanks you all in advance.

Yes, Catsby can set up his wireless access point to only allow connections from certain MAC addresses. Catsby can also encrypt the communications (with a choice of encryption protocols) which will prevent any pikey neighbours from intercepting his porn.

How does Catsby feel always speaking in the third person?

He feels enlightened.

Catsby is also concerned that any "encryption" would result in worse pings for games? He asks if this is a valid concern or not.

I don't think Catsby will notice any difference, it doesn't take long to do the WEP/etc.
