My brother had a PCMCIA wireless card for his very old laptop that recently broke. He asked what would be the best thing for him to get to replace it.

Does anyone know what would be better a PCMCIA card or a usb stick? Are there any cheap but good models around?

I was wondering if it would be worth suggesting he gets one of those USB sticks that provide mobile broadband because they should be able to provide a wireless connection and give him the option to connect to the internet if he is out. I was looking at suggesting something like this but have no idea what would be good. Any suggestions?

I have always preferred PCMCIA cards due to their snug fitting. I always knocked the usb type.
