Anyone have Windows XP installed and running tribes?
I recently formatted my drive, added ram(running 512 now), added 52x cd-rom, and have 600 amd processor. Vid card is a
Hercules prophet II mx.

Tribes2 ran fine on windows 98 with these cards and processor, minus the ram (had 128k) and 52x cd-rom(had 32x).

I have Tribes 2 installed and current patch has been loaded but whenever it tries to run, I get an "unhandled exception" error.
Any help will do. I've been to the sierra site to no avail.

Thx

Hmmm...

T2 wont run on a default install of XP with a geforce card as you have found out it UE's every time.

Install the latest Detonator drivers from the Nvidia site and all will be well.

Only prob I had was a bug with the updater so I manually dled it and upgraded. Now alls working fine. I'm using the detonator 21.83 drivers btw.

Hope you sort it.

Aye, like Mesp and Bob007, I've not had any issues with XP and T2 on my DDR athy system. You might like to try a few tweaks/fixes that can be found in the UpsetChaps guide below, and pick up drivers from Guru3D for your GTS.

If you are running an SBlive with liveware, you will certainly want to remove the liveware and replace the drivers with the minimal set from the Creative webby. Also try turning down hardware acceleration in the display properties>advanced>troubleshooting section. Drop it down one notch .. that seems to fix a whole lotta probs.

Same goes with DX Sound acceleration. Run menu>dxdiag

Drop the slider all the way to the left so it is "off". Of course if you encounter stuttering in other games then more than likely you will have to change that back to its normal setting "full accelleration".

Hope that helps :)

Visit the Upset Chaps Tribes2 guide.
Grab drivers from Guru3D webby.
