- You/I Wait 1month

- You/I Download from your favorate torrent site with activation cracks.

- You/I Enjoy Vista.

Tbh I do think a lot of this is scare tactics and bullshit - Microsoft as much as they don't like piracy etc will obviously know that limiting each PC to only playing genuine copies etc and the other problems mentioned in that article - will only turn people to Mac or Linux - I doubt they are that stupid tbh - until its released and I start reading reviews then - thats when I will make my choice - not from a bunch of blogs.

I'll buy it, it won't be my primary OS until Vista SP1 or so (When XP got good)

To be honest, there is too much good about vista to not use it at all. Yes Vista WGA will get hacked, yes you will be able to get pirated versions from everyone and their dad, however I don't care what anyone has to say negative about Microsoft, at the end of the day without Microsoft squeezing code from their monkeys, what would you be using right now? (i accept some readers use linux/reactos)

I'll buy it as Microsoft deserve some credit for the hard work they do

Atleast half of the points there are in Windows XP aswell, but as I guess 99% here are using pirated versions of XP they have never noticed it.

But some of those realy do suck, and I realy dubt I would get it as I have license on the 3 comps I have running at home and dont realy feel like cashing out for 3 new.

It doesnt seem all that bad. Microsoft protecting their own software is hardly something bad. I'd agree that the limitation to one-time transfer is a little annoying, but they have a right to be paid for what they produce - after all, you can show what you think of what they produce by voting with your cash

You dont need vista for home use atm, the only real drive for having it as a home OS is directx 10
Save your money, wait till xp has become unsupported then upgrade for a fraction of the price.
Remember noone knows what bugs and security holes vista has yet, whereas xp is a well established OS

Vista is also a huge rescource hog so if you have a lower end pc i REALLY dont recommend it, i ran it on a 1.4Ghz athlon xp and it hammered it
Your gfx card is already obselete on dx10, and there are no real contenders on the market atm

Back on topic, remember you can just block most the traffic with a firewall. Everything still works fine for me :touch wood:

One thing i was really dissapointed in was the media version of vista, its not really got much more than a patched version of media center. They have tweaked the code noticably for less overhead on your system (i checked by running minimum services), but then they have added double with the additional vista stuff so you actually get less performance :/

Beeing able to transfer the OS only one time is in the OEM of XP aswell, a regular version of XP you are able to transfer 3 times I think it is, and changing ~6 components in the computor is seen as a transfer aswell. After those times the reg code you have will be locked towards activation. Mate of mine ended up having this problem when he bought a new comp and was gonna install the Win Xp he had bought a little while before and had installed on the comp he had been using for the time, what he didnt know was that the store had sold him an OEM version so when he tryed to activate it on his new comp he werent able to.

This coming from the guy that openly condems downloading music without paying for it. Because stealing an operating system is totally different then stealing a song!
