Windows 8 product key problem

Bought an SSD today have 1 problem, Windows 8 CD says my product key is wrong, I bought W8 when they were doing that upgrade for £20 offer got the email with my product key and copied pasted and saved it.

Gone onto Windows store to redownload it i enter my only hotmail address and according to that I've bought nothing, thing is when I was doing the whole offer thing everything was done through my gmail address including the emails with product key etc.

Of course the email isn't there anymore only 1 from microsoft teasing me with an upgrade to W8 today that i got back in November when i upgraded.

Only thing i have is the windows 8 backup dvd that i ordered when doing the upgrade deal, i will ring MS tomorrow but if my hotmail address doesn't have the product key how the fuck are they going to find me?

They might ask you to read the number from the center of the win8 DVD (assuming genuine) and then they will give you a code by email. At least, thats what they do for wndows 7.

You would have had to log in using a ms account like with messenger when you registered it. That will still have your product key in it. They should have no problems finding you.
