got a pc here with a foxconn 945G7WD motherboard and just installed windows 7 on it but it doesnt seem to want to detect the realtek ac 97 on board sound

Tried 603_win_vista_win7.zip drivers and the 605 ones also and they get stuck in a loop keep asking to be sure you want to install unsigned drivers for it

It doesnt appear in the device manager list :(

head phones work via usb for sound as a work around atm

Any ideas ?

I'm pretty surprised that Windows doesn't detect that. Have you tried seeing if ac97 drivers are available on the Windows 7 CD?

yay fixed the fecker .. only took 3 days

windows came up with high def audio device when installed but only showed for S/Dif out no speakers.

I had to install the High Def audio codecs from realteks site to get the sound working through the speakers.

Incase anyone else comes up with this :)
