Windows 2000 Freeze

Anyone know about windows 2000 security? I've installed Wingate so I can share my internet connection via my server.

Unfortunatly, it appears that once this is done a executable called msdtc.exe can go completely crazy and start using all my resources.

This has just happend and quite frankly it's annoying. For the mean time I've just renamed the exe file so it doesn't get started at start up, enabling me to actually use my computer.

Is there some kind of fix or do I have to reinstall?

Thanks for any help.

This article explains my problem better than I could.

um...how about installing a firewall and explicitly setting a deny rule on port 1026?

may work, but I never tried it. I don't use windows you see ;)
