Well, not bluescreening or anything.

But every time i try to even remotely touch the winamp folder, let alone start it up, the comp starts to think...and think...and think.

If you catch my drift.

I've tried removing it via dos, remove/add programs etc.

Any ideas?

Do you mean that even when you tried deleting its folders in Dos the pc still went into 'think' mode?

I can't remember the fancy delete commands, so i simply tried the old del winamp command, then it left folders still.

Tried del winamp\*.* and del winamp\*.* /a which probably did nothing.

When i entered the skins folder, it went to think mode again.

Haven't tried safe mode yet, probably might work.

I wondered if part of your hard disk has gotten bugged - if you get stuck might be worth running a quick scandisk - you could also monitor what process is causing the machine to hang when you go into the folders as this might give clues as to the problem.

List the processes running before then see what new one appears and google it to see what it does?

Evidently, as chkdsk had to gather up a few orphan files and kill their parents, my HD was a bit buggy and a bit iffy. Got rid of winamp though.

Now, it might have been because of firefox, which now works with a limited brainpower(as an example, freddyshouse looks like this...

Tried removing firefox and installing it again, but i think i have to destroy a few cookies or something...
