Wierd Internet Explorer problem

For some reason, while browsing websites (including loading, viewing or clicking links) Internet Explorer randomly crashes. The hard drive activity light comes on and then every single explorer window that's open disappears.

I've checked for virus's and looked in event viewer for any error messages, but none are being made. Anyone have any idea what could cause this?

You could try reinstalling IE6. Failing that, reinstall windows :<

Fatty, for all the advocacy in the world, that wasn't really very helpful was it?

Mellow: Try running Ad-Aware and Spybot. Check there's anything unexpected installed into IE that shouldn't be. Any bugs in them can obviously hit you unexpectedly when browsing.

If it's Pre-XP then you can indeed try reinstalling it, might work, if it's XP+, then you're screwed for reinstalling IE alone.
