tip: don't aim for anywhere particular till you see how the prices go

unless you want to pay 95p for your lot...

95p = at least £750 on eBay. Which you could use to rent a hotel room or something. In Real Life! :-o

Not gonna bother with a house for a long while - dont see the point personally.

All it is , is a status symbol, a way of saying look at me, ive got money.

I use my money in better ways tbh, like helping friends.

Not a whine - just my POV.

Makes DAoC-life a lot easier... Portal NPC, vendor NPC, bindstone... Not a status symbol since the cheapest house is just that, cheap.

You betcha - i love my cardboard box by the side of the stream, where all the horses take a dump.

I might go halves on a place with someone in game if i can be bothered.

And NPC's, bindstones, etc.. bit lazy innit ?

Bringing the mountain to mohammed, rather than vice versa i think. Takes a bit of the fun out of it.

I bet I've used horses for way over 2 days /played. That's real time. I've no interest in watching my toon riding a horse from Castle Sauvage to Avalon Marsh - at all. I've watched that enough.

Hey Well its not a status symbol as its a game :). As i been playing daoc for grey hair long time i find it funny to spend some time making a house. You get alot of teleporters in the house wich is very important! ( snowdonia portal ) . So now we got a chance to keep our power relice's duo to this portal. you get 25% discount on all your npc's. And you can show even more if you are a armorcrafter for hire etc.

Its a good place where you can be and go anywhere you want via portals. Discount. Time spending. Account vault. And what i really really luve buying a npc that you can handle item over and name a price. Then its walking around and other players can check what it have like a normal Armor merchant etc or any other merchant who sell stuff.

Anyway i'm looking forward to it. And theres alot good! things whit it indeed. Also make it more MMORPG

Hope that solved your answer

Best regards Saxo

Would be cool if all the crafters lived in the same little town. WOuld certainly make getting hold of items much easier.

There's gonna be a market explorer where you can search for items that are on all consignment merchants.

Ahhh i thought that was on a per-town basis (1 search facility per town) but if not thats great!
Will certainly make life for the crafters a little easier and make it easier for us to get what we want too :)

Solved my answer ? - erm No... Why ? Because i didn't ask a question which required an answer - i was giving my point of view/personal opinion.

Housing's going to be a lot more than a status symbol for my Pryd characters... that consignment merchant is going to take 80% of the pain out of running a weaponcrafting business. No more having to drum up custom when I'm online and hunt down customers to make deliveries or hang around until they find it convenient... just keep the merchant stocked with 99% weapons and any MPs that happen to come along and make sure my prices are competitive without being unprofitable. I win by not going prematurely grey, my customers win by being able to get hold of a weapon when they want one and not when an LGM smith happens to be online and in crafting mode.

Here on Excal though, I'll probably just make use of the AoP guild house at least initially. As long as you have access to house facilities like teleporters, you don't need your own private domicile unless you've got a lot of stuff to sell or are just awash with cash...

That may well be, but he just showed you how your point of view was flawed.
