....don't spiders climb back down the plughole instead of staying in the bath all night?

Dunno, I am sick of the little blighters though. I hate killing them but sometimes the bastards are just too big to fit in a cup.

Just drape a towel or similar over the edge of the bath, and they're generally find their own way out...

Awww, you shouldn't kill them :(

They are such fantastic little creations. I couldn't pick one up but I never kill them.

Had one in the bath last night and he was still trying to get out this morning, he must of been at it all night.

Just seems strange to me that they don't use the obvious exit.

Why don't you just put the bathplug in the hole when you aren't using it? :p

Yeah I did think maybe thats what happens.

Why is there the common thinking that they come up the plug hole though?

Spiders must all die for being the foulest creations ever to walk this planet.

They make my skin crawl and are vile.

Any spider that comes within stamping distance, after I squeal like a girl and panic, does not live.

The thought that on average we eat 3 insects per year in our sleep must really disturb you as well then, it certainly worries me.

This has been stated already, but they can't come up the plughole because of the trap down there, a small u-bend affair that has water in to stop the smells coming up.

If you letit climb up the bath with a towel - how would you know where it went FFS!!!

My son Dan is obsessed with them at the moment and when he finds a decent sized spider with a good web, he sets about finding live food to throw into the web so he can see Mother Nature in all it's gory glory.

If you use a daddy-long-legs though, the spider must feel like he's in War of the Worlds or something as this massive insect thrashes around in his web.

on my back door there is a spider web and everday i burn off one of the supports and everyday the spider builds it and today the spider built it stronger with 3 supports and another one tailing off to another part of the wall.

it is quite intriguing.

I remember doing that with ants, watching the spider spin them into that cocoon for mealsies later was always strangely fascinating.

Yep, they can be quite smart when it comes to web building.

with luck you'll be climbing walls and battling baddies in no time :)

or hordes of evil baby spiders may suddenly burst out through your eyeballs ;)
