Fuck all on tv yet again :/

The 5 terrestrial channels are a joke, best things have gone for now like Top Gear, Dr Who (Billie Piper IS fit :p), Shameless like it used to be etc

i assume your the same as me in that you grew up watching stuff like bottom when you were 9 or 10 yrs old.

tv around that time was great but there isnt enough new creative people to top it now. most new comedy is just the same shit with different actors.

the only channels worth watching are uk tv history and E4 :\

Hell yea, have the entire series of Bottom of DVD!

Blackadder, Red Dwarf, One foot in the grave,

Some class shows that ended up getting fucked by the BBCs demand and overuse, like Only Fools and Horses, One foot in the grave, Keeping up Appearances

I remember reading something about the UK tv industry recently, concerning the lack of good series around. The guy was saying that the TV companies ask how much of a budget you need the first time round. If you manage to stick to that budget for the first series, they ask you to do the second with less money.

Theres just a complete lack of understanding of the average TV viewer. I think they still believe we want to watch reality TV programs every day.

keeping up appearances is fucking quality.

some of the late 70s/early 80s like open all hours is fucking legendary too.

Hell, even I grew up with Bottom, and The Young Ones :D
Anyway, English TV is still a hell of a lot better than the shit here in the Netherlands. I love Top Gear, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Have I got news for you and that Graham Norton Uncut. That's more decent shows running just now (tho I haven't seen Top Gear/Buzzcocks recently, but I'm assuming they'll start again soon - or I'll die) than there have ever been on the Dutch telly.

C'mon, don't any of you enjoy all those "reality" TV shows?
/sarcasm

I quite enjoyed Sorted, it looks set to be good and Pint of Lager is one of the shows I am glad to catch when its on.

I do wish they'd bring back Whose Line is it Anyway? I found the first series on Virgin on Demand and wasted a couple of days enjoying it. They've also got the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, incoming rewinds of Colin Firth in the lake!

lol well i have free view but there are only a few shows I actually make a point of watching

desperate housewives
ugly betty
frasier
and when theyre on dr who, torchwood and primeval

I'll watch grand designs too because I really want a house so have to fantasise about other peoples :( but thats really about it tbh, i do watch other stuff but its not stuff that it bothers me to miss

although the war at home on e4 is pretty funny tbh.
