its a test of nerve. Do you have the nerve to sit and press the same button over and over again for upto 3 hours at a time. Is so do it for a year then make hundreds of gold. :p

The Crafting system is good in EQ2 too. You actually have to pay attention to stop yourself being killed by dropping molten metal on your foot or trapping your hand in the sewing machine, and hit a bunch of reactionary actions to counter the effect. You actually require a little "skill" (well hand eye coordination and a lot of endurance) to make the higest quality items (as opposed to DAOC's "random" quality), and you go out and harvest your materials rather than just buy them so that its a lot, lot cheaper (although you have to spend time farming - or just buying from other players who have farmed for you).

Best way in my book is to do something else at the same time.

Two accounts is nice. Craft on one whilst having fun on the other. My little scout is now 579 fletching on that basis, and it's got my spellcrafter and my wife's alchemist up a lot too.

The plus side is that crafting is something that can be done whilst doing other things. I'd never take masterpiece orders if I had to 100% concentrate on the green bar.

compared to crafting in Everquest2, this is nothing. Crafting in DAoC gives you the opportunity to do something else while pressing a button now and then or they made it this way just to annoy you.
