Why "Freddys House"? Why not BarrysWorld?

I know some think I'm a grumpy opinionated ****, I am.
However I enjoy gaming, and some will know I've been on BW for a while (Nov '98 iirc).
BW used to be the best place on the net, for gaming, forums etc.
I used the dialup, and subbed all the way.
Game took over and it went totally fubar, lost the spirit.

If you haven't already read TTDs announcement, looks like we might just get a decent place to be again.

Indeed freedyshouse was the name of barrysworld at the beggining. Anyways there is a a sticky about this at the top of the forum.

Do a whois on "barrysworld.com" from a handy whois lookup tool (say ripe database or netnames) and you'll see that the domain was inadvertantly sold to a dutch guy so they have very little (ie only by request and if the guy feels like it) control over it.

This might explain why a new name was made.
