Er, this is the same Elton John who admitted spending £30,000 per year on flowers and once even asked for £25m loan to support his rather lavish lifestyle ?

Maybe if Sir Elton paid his extra 1% NI tax on his income like the rest of us will be doing this year we could see some additional funding for the whole NHS. Of course his "charity" might preclude him morally from that, apart from being a nice tax loophole.

Wazz: Which kinda explains why Elton is pissed off. Average person knows that shagging lots of whores will get him ill. And even THAT is seen as progress.

The thing is it depends on what you want to target. If you're lucky enough not to get aborted by one of the aformentioned whores but get born with HIV then I think you deserve every chance we can offer, that's what social responsible is all about. And blood transfusions and the like can also transmit obviously.

I think the general consensus, however, is that if you get it from being an irresponsible twat then you should have your prick chopped off before you're allowed anywhere near the NHS.

Shame the Ananova report was so brief and skimped on what exactly Elton was speciifically complaining about and who for. On the face of it it just looks like he's been out of the press since the last outburst (cheesey pop bands wasn't it?) and he's just on to another cause. Shame, cause I'm sure he means well by it.

I'm actually going to stand up for Scouse here. I'm presuming that he was talking from his own point of view, and assuming he wasn't a haemophiliac or born with AIDS, the main way he's going to get it is by shagging slags from Rotherham. which I think is fair enough, as if you shag some random bint without protection you deserve everything you get.

According to the Terrance Higgins Trust statistics infections from HIV inherited from the mother is only 2% of cases, whereas a vast majority are from hetero or homosexual intercourse.

So basically Scouse's advise is largely correct

TBH I still reckon the Big C is a lot more important than AIDS and I don't think the flower man should be telling the government to spend more money on just AIDS...a disease which quite a few contract by doing things they know better not to do. Although as pointed out this isn't always the case but again not that many people die of AIDS compared to the Big C.

Embattle, you are correct and I agree with you, but the fact is he was complaining about government _spending_ on AIDS, yet the man himself wastes huge amounts of cash on whimsical luxuries and probably doesn't even contribute his fair share of tax or National Insurance anyway.

This is the second highest music entertainer talking with a estimated personal fortune of around £160m, you'd have thought he might be a bit more generous himself before he starts laying into the government's record.
