kinda curious, im no medical expert but i find train travel one of the most exhausting methods of transport out there, despite getting on the train 5 minutes from my house at one end of the journey and getting off and then walking to the car park at the other end with very little hassle in between, i sit and sleep/read/stare out of the window for 4 hours odd and yet at the end of it im absolutely exhausted!

whyyyyyyyyyyyy?!? :m00:

because train journeys are boring, you stare at the woman next to you / in front of your, you try to think what she looks like naked, you wish you never tried thinking about it, and you might as well go to sleep

Being 6'6" tall i like to play a game called "try to find a position to sit in thats not uncomfortable or flat-out painful"

I did have an odd experience on a train a while back, was sitting on an aisle seat and a party of "special" children got on with their teacher and sat at a table diagonally across from me. I was reading a book but noticed there was a young girl, must have been about 5, staring at me. I ignored it but she just kept staring and it was oddly disconcerting so after about 30 minutes or so I thought I'd see if I could get a reaction from here so I started making funny faces at her.

After a couple minutes contorting my face with no visible reaction I gave up and as I looked up I caught the eye of a rather attractive young woman sitting behind her who was giving me the strangest look - she immediatly hid behind a newspaper and avoided looking at me the rest of the trip.

Dunno why that story sprang to mind, prolly something to do with it being 2:30am and bored at work :(

I could never sleep on trains, think I was afraid I would miss my station, and I'd feel silly using my phones alarm :p

Naaaah. There is one thing that can make a train ride worse, and that is if someone is talking to you constantly, so either pretend you are a deaf-mute or smell really bad, but the first is more fun tho :D

well i despise train travel as i always end up next to some weirdos, the best people i've travelled with tho was 3 guys from a travelling freak show, some of the stories they had were v amusing (i kid you not i sat with a dwarf, a bearded lady and a guy with no arms) worst by is when sitting near children that just scream/whine constantly, i tend not to anger easily but at one point this kid had been screaming, crying etc for about an hour, so turned up the volume on mp3 to drown it out and the kids dad had the nerve to ask me to turn it down as it was disturbing him! (i refused and him and his kid moved away thank goodness)

<3 trains.

Outrageous single fare prices but great discounts for weekly/monthly tickets.

Oh and lots of hot school girls (16+ - 2 year rule! ;d) about ;d
