Why do we have so few resists?

As I remember when europa Daoc started we where at patch 1.45. What I remember was that we had like 6 more resists. Wouldnt it be smart to bring them back? because it would be imposible to cap them all and u could specialise ur char to be good vs some and worse vs others. For example was a resist called poison... that should not be on same resist as body. If u want to be strong vs assasins u have to be weak vs some other class. That would add alot of diversity to the game again. And it would make chars more fun to play because as it looks now u get ur SC gear and u are done. With more resists u could have one gear and change from time to time when u feel for example u meet many earth specced thergist or wizzards or to cape fire to be strong vs those classes and lower ur poison resist. Now every class is the same and that makes the game bit more boring imo. This change would also be very easy to implement again with some good testing. Plz post what u think of it...

I'd just like to see a hardcap on resists, rather than add more. The idea is nice though, but you will piss a whole lot of people off with this because they spent ages trying to farm enough money to buy their SC gear.

Its only money. They can be farmed quite quick again. Im talking about the survival of the game. To make a game intresting it has to have more diversity. I can just see some ppl getting really happy and hoping they will meet someone that Just have low resists vs their spell or wpn. Now they know everyone is caped. When there is hope...... now there is no hope =)

I think the idea of SC is good, and tbh unless your gonna spend alot of time hunting for half decent items you wont be able to cap all resists. And as all resists are 26% before racial resists and realm abilities i dont think they are too over powered.
Mythic are tryin to make battles last longer, and i think that SC actually achieves that.
There was nothing more annoying as a tank than being cannon fodder. Battle starts, stunned/mezzed, nuked to death in 3-4 seconds, release, rinse and repeat. At least now with some warden and druid resists and a few levels of Avoidance of Magic tanks actually stand a chance of getting to enemy mages in a battle.

1.35 you mean.



More resists wont mean that ppl wont cap em all, it will just mean that only the totally uber ppl will cap on all. Which in turn will make the gap bigger

Aye, will annoy a lot of people. And you say the money can in turn be farmed again easily? Tell me, how long would it take me to farm back 30+ plat I'm spending on mine? :p

Just to get this correct: Peeps are farming for zillions of hours (in PvE) to get that amount of money that will, at most, give them 5% more survivability in RvR (with endgoal: More RP for you).

You have any clue how much RP you could get in the time you where farming for money ?

My caster (RR4) has AF51cloth, 99% qua and 994hp, 168dex, 219int, 29%slash,25%crush,23%thrust, all magic-resists +29% (AoM2) except for spirit and matter (round 20%) and wind-skill (primary dmg-line) 45+8; dual-focus staff.

Sure spending alot of money on MP-set and items could give me 222int and all capped resists (instead of 2-4% off cap) but I doubt that will increase my survivability by even 5% (3 or 4 nukes does matter, but 3.3 nukes or 3.7 nukes makes no difference whatsoever) but in the mean time I can go RvR and get RA's which DO increase survivability (FA, but also Augmented Constitution and Toughness, or even Purge).

Sure I understand the drive 'to perfection' but in the end I fail to see the point of it.

Just a thought about the relevance of all those 37/32 templates :)

no it can't

more than likely they spent 1-3 plat on 99% armor, and 20+ plat on Masterpiece armor. When was the last time you even GLANCED at this kind of cash. Not to mention the price on procs, enchants, and SCing.

if it does, half the people will be so damn mad they'll leave :p
