Server is drying out, more ppl quit the game then ever before...
Still there are alot of ppl browsing these forums. Keeping contact with the community, being addicted to FH like they were years ago to DAoC.

So what I wonder is... why do we still care so much?
The average user takes any opportunity to tell how GOA screwed up the english server. Ppl like to express their opinion about DAoC, how it used to be and what it is these days...

But why? why dont ppl stop caring all together when they quit the game ?

What do you think ? Why do you still care about the game and the ways its been going all those years?

Is it because you gotten attatched to the community?... Is it because you remember the game for all its good moments over the years and have problems leaving that behind? Is it because you hate leaving behind the friends you made ingame?

I wonder... why do you still care ? :)

ps. ye i'm rather drunk atm :p

I don't care at all tbh. I've given up the idea of having my Animist as funny mainchar and I moved on with the people I loved to play. It's fun with them, cause they're nice people who I've learned to like over the time I played with them.

Why I post on FH? Hell I guess the same goes for here aswell. There are more or less the same people who post here over and over again and it has become some kind of a custom to go here and have some fun.

what Liloe said! :)
Tho i dont realy play daoc anymore..
Well maybe some time soon with a RL friend of mine, who'll be a first time DAoC player (on Gareth Classic)
Me playing paladin, and she playing merc.
Just for a giggle :)

I love reading the crap on these forums haha

Apart from that.. i've found other things in life,
Getting a job in a diffrent country, and tbh!. its allot of fun!, and a pain in the bum to get things sorted out.

Which sounds very similar to DAoC! :p
---
Oh and yes. i do miss my old friends in-game,
allot! :)
But this game has come to its end (atleast for Dyvet, and maybe Europe soon)
Time to look for new games, new things to do etc.. a whole new experience :)

I care because i still play daoc.
Not as much as i wanted to but still.

Why i'm on FH?

I have no idea..

Its not the only forum i'm on actually,

Totse, VN boards, and my own forum is just a few more.

As for the quitters.
I think there's still a part left who's missing daoc.
Thats why they are around.

Hmm yeah.. in the back of my mind, even tho i'm not, i'm still playing daoc.
Can remember all places. and all cool stuff!, havent played Albion for 3-4 years. and i can still recall how Salisbury plains / Avalon City & Certain other dungeons look like!
Actualy this topic made a few names come back up to my mind,
And i went to contact them (Via FH) just now, just to hear if their okay! Hoping them to reply

After spending X amount of hours with someone. doing quests.. farming cash.. or just having a great laugh! :)
Actualy, the memories they gave me. i will never forget!

Some people are indeed truely special! :)

We're all still hanging around waiting for a better server :)

I think most people have a "golden age" of DAOC that they'd like to return to.

Personally, it's got nothing to do with the game anymore. It was fun, it's over, period.

This forum on the other hand is a good was to kill some time either between work breaks or like now that I'm having my breakfast etc. Sometimes there are a few arguments that really worth contributing into, sometimes it's just full of shit.

The community part, well i know some of the people from their in-game characters, be that friends or foes, some others i just see em posting here and i got no clue who they are, but fair game, can't possibly remember everyone!

The slagging off goa thing. Well I've been lied to for months by a company of morons while they were happy to take my money in between. Obviously I'm not gonna be friendly towards them!

Might come up with more reasons later on. Still haven't had a coffee

Dunno why I keep coming back to FH really.. I'm addicted, but not to the rvr section! Could easily live on without it, but I keep coming back to the OT section to read about whatever ppl feel like posting and for all the great laughs we have

The correct sentence would be: Hallo, ich bin Bluesky und auch ich bin DAoC-süchtig // auch ich bin ein DAoC-Süchtiger.

You don't put a comma before "und", except if the comma seperates a relative sentence ^^

I wonder... why do you still care ? :)
To say it with Beautiful South's words:
"Have fun
And if you can't have fun
Have someone else's fun
'cause someone sure had mine
They came in
Now they're having a whale of a time

You should grow a beard
A beard to tell a thousand stories never told before
A beard to tell you tales, whilst the fireplace roars
The closing of relationships and the opening of doors
The starting of hostilities and the ending of wars

Take care
And if you couldn't care
Take someone else's care
'cause someone took my care
They went there and then they were not there

We should have a baby
And then i wouldn't feel quite so sad
Then i'd feel like paul the saint and not jack the lad
A baby that'll make me feel so very glad
I've had a life of booze, but that's all i've ever had

'cause i'm the king of misery
The prince of the torn apart
And you're the lighthouse keeper
To the owner of a ship-wrecked heart

Take heart
And if you can't take heart
Take someone else's heart
Someone took my heart
They came in, now i'm torn apart

We should grey together
Not that pigeon-chested trafalgar grey
The grey that greets you on that first october day
The grey of russian front, whilst wolves bay
And the skeleton of life that love decays

'cause you're the queen of sadness
The princess of the house of pain
And you're the final match
To the holder of this flickering flame

Have fun
"

I'm just around hoping to follow the DAoC (FH) community into WAR. However, seeing at it won't be released in a 10 months I think what's left of the community will fall apart in that time.

Other than that I'm browsing off-topic.

Well from what i hear/read, WAR is gonna be a VERY big dissapointment!

I really cant see ANY game being anywhere near as good as DAOC! Shame GoA had to ruin it!!!

If WAR sux and my friends stop playing DAoC, I'll start playing DDO. The game is less addictive and time-consuming anyways and the community is pretty nice and a bit older =)

I'm guessing the main reason for that will be it's almost bound to be based very much on large zerg vs zerg battles and most people who played DAoC decided that the fun in that passed a while ago since we've already done it once.
For most people the next big thing that will capture your attention will be something unlike DAoC since it's going to be new instead of having the "haven't we been here before" syndrome.

I think it's atleast partly down to the fact that DAOC is a fuckin killer game..plus the community/friends you make in game makes it a whole lot better...i think its just people clinging on to fond memories and hoping that its gonna get to the stage it once was (English servers that is) where there were lots of people on..lots of friends to play with/make....big fights in RVR an the BG's always having a healthy population.
looking back on it...when i started daoc in like october/november (dont recall exactly) 2003 it was fucking brilliant...made many friends and had some great times....an i think the reason i am still around today is those memories...the good times...as sad/stupid or whatever ya wanna call it...daoc means a lot to me...greatest game i have ever played and i think any other MMO i play will really have its work cut out to compete with daoc.
basically it's cos deep down...no matter what some of us say...we fucking love daoc...always have...always will :)
i have some very fond memories of molvik runnin with a VW an a warden bot on stick...an takin down fg's...we did that a few times....we would atleast take 5 of an FG on a pretty regular basis. (loves ya mrbic ya big swede!)
an also running on my ranger with aiteal in BG3 takin down necro's.....and SI/Sheeroe hills sessions with HoR and EH on my BM....i've had some amazing fun on daoc...thats why i'm still around altho i hardly play anymore lol.
/drunken rant over

Why care.. dunno. Haven't had my cup o coffee yet and I feel like a buffed armsman planted his polearm in my skull :twak:

I actually started to play DAoC again, on US classic ofc. Got rather fed up with WoW so I decided to go and do something else. Been having a lot of fun on US classic, I reckon I'll be there for quite some time to come :)

Anything is possible, which is why it's always stoopid to put shit like "RIP DAoC, waiting for WAR" in sigs. Possible this new game doesn't hold so much attraction for alot of DAoC addicts and alot who say they gonna play it give it a few months and go back to what's left of DAoC or another game. The death of DAoC might be a lot more drawn out than some of the doomongers make out.

Still playing daoc.

I was hoping for an action that would save my midgard characters from inactivity but that isn't coming anytime soon i guess.

So i started on Lyonesse Albion. Last 5 years i played midgard and hibernia, never played alb before and i must say it's fun to explore unknown territory again :) Only have to find an english guild on Alb/Lyo :( (Apart from the ....... from CM that is)

Reason why we hang onto Daoc. Quite simple really.

Daoc has the best pvp any game has yet offered.

When they make a game consisting of: The orgininal SWG crafting system, Daoc pvp, WoW questing system. And some of the newer gfx's from eg. LOTRO. They could make a killer game, with all what people wants imo. Best crafting, best pve side, best pvp side and as a bonus - nice to look at!

But so far, all other games has just dissapointed..

For the community ingame. Have met alot of different people and nationalities and that has been the best part of the game. Without name flaming, there are always people when you think back, that can put a smile on your face and the opposite, people that winds you up all the time.

Started Pre-SI on Albion for 2 years. Played Hib for 3 and currently having fun on avalon playing Mid. Wished they made the landscape a little more smooth, besides that its fun to have explored all the races/lands.

GOA - Well, they have given us alot of grief for sure. BUT they have also given us the chance to meet the people we have. To play a game we love to play. One can only hope Mythic will buy the Dyvet cluster and make it US, but until that will occur we have a chance to refresh our german or french for that matter

I occasionally browse these forums for e-drama, and nostalgia :p

"Wait for WH then FH will be back to it's best"

That'd be cool, but it's still the best part of a year away :<

I like the quests in DDO and Ultima Online was interesting, char-development wise. The latter has a shit PvP system though :/
