Last friday.

Out.

Friend and her friend out too.

Drinks.

Laughs.

Time to go home.

Friends friend took off somewhere.

Friend says "hate walking home alone after dark".

I say, ofcourse, "i'll walk ya home".

She lives by my bus-route, about 8miles or so before my stop. No biggie.

Escorted her home.

Walked back to bus-stop.

Bus leaves as i take a corner.

I...walk home.

Don't have her number so could't crash there, wouldn't have anyway, boyfriend and all.

Nice walk in the dark, almost sober, in snow, thorurhg some f*cked up lil roads :D

A true chivalrous nobleman would have wrapped his cloak around her shoulders and carried her all the way to her door to prevent her feet from touching the snow.

Chivalry is over rated, most women don't notice when a bloke is being decent anyway.

Walking on the side of the pavement closest to the road, opening doors, walking home etc.. They don't care.

Mostly i did mean that "well, there ya go, do nice things and nice things happen to...no..they don't." :D

But i do get thank yous and smiles any time i keep a door open for a bit longer, if someone is rather close to the door.

Yeah i agree most people dont really notice if you go that extra mile to do something nice! Its quite depressing, I normally hold a door open if someone is behind me etc and it does feel good to get the occassional thank you etc.

In the Pub Friday night i held the door open for a girl who looked at me and said "you wish" my respoce nearly led to a fight so that could be one reason why people are not nice anymore.

My god, that girl must have thought very highly of herself. Or she'd never met someone who is generally nice enough to hold open a door for her, her loss!

I said "In your dreams you ugly troll faced c**t" I could have been more tactful but she stopped in then out of the door several times so i was left stood there like a tool.

I find myself being like that occasionally. Then i slap myself and remind it's the outdated conditioning my family gave me 20 years ago and today it's a liability rather than an asset (there have actually been discrimination cases filed on the basis of people being over-chivalrous).

Personally the "fuck it" line for me came when i got a 6-7 inch high heel stabbed through my back by a "grateful" female after i stopped her drunken boyfriend from beating the crap out of her... 14 stitches later...

i do stuff like that without thinking tbh, especially the holding door open thing man or woman! just polite really ;)

but yeah errr women are crazy so cant really expect their behavior to be rational or thought out (not sexist! i have had this confirmed by many women!)

It has got to the point mind when people are so cynical about anything that they just immediately think the worse.

Over christmas there was a rather drunk lady throwing a phone in the phone box and then crying near by, we were moving on through town to one of the more busy areas and I stopped and asked her if she was ok, she said yes so we carried on about 10 yards down she ran after us and said no, so I asked what was up and she said she had lost her mates gave her my phone to ring her mate which she did and start screaming down the phone, so I took the phone off her and asked where they were so we could walk her to them, found out etc.. Started walking to where they all were and she followed, fair enough I thought we're drop her off and then carry on our merry way. Got to the top of the road and there was a lad waiting there, I asked if he was looking for this girl and the first thing he said was "Are you trying to hit on her"...

I was like WTF, so thought not my problem, carried on walking and she followed this lad who didn't seem to care.

Eventful night, felt stupid in the morning for bothering my mates took the piss for weeks.

Most people start out joyful and happy thinking the best of the world. Then they experience it a bit. A cynic is born.

i read somewhere that the more interaction you have with others via the internet the more cynical you become :(

Possibly because much like gay midget porn, it turns an ordinary person into a freak for other's pleasure?

sorry youve lost me here. your saying chivalry is dead because you walked a lass home and didnt get a shag out of it, or because she didnt say thank you?

pride in a job well done should be its own reward :)

she might not have said anything, but she'll remember who you are.

Bah women; they want you to hold doors open and be all manly and chivalric but stop before it gets 'patronising'. Get married - that way chivalry doesn't bother you because you don't display any! :)

fucking hell, tohtori being questioned on something and not googling the topic and spouting random shit!

Well, just for you i looked up why you have a black man as an avatar and the only logical conclusion is that you're very concerned about the small size of your penis.

Also the blatant homesexual wibes from your quotes you decided are needed in your posts, in your signature, are a firm reason for you to have some homophobic tendencies.

Most likely, you were raped by a black man with a huge penis and now are envious of them because you can't compete.

Yeah, i still got it bitch :p

Chivalry isn't dead.

Just most modern-day skanks (read Laddey's mum) don't appreciate her.

You try and light some candles for her, next thing you know shes got them between her legs the dirty slag.

In my world, chivalry is a sign of weakness. Most women think that, and they act accordingly - see soze's story.

Tohtori, not sure what you were trying to achieve, if anything -- but if you didn't really expect her to rub you that way, then I have to say your empathy and common sense are way off. If you're not skilled enough to tell if she would, or not, then I guess a walk in the snow is your lesson.

On the other hand, if your thoughts were pure, just shrug it off -- there'll be some other damsel for you to enchant with your chivalry....

....when you're 70.

I can assure you, i wouldn't f*ck her with a 10 foot pole. Not that she's ugly, au contraire, just that she's taken and taken in my books is unf*ckable.

Any circustance.

Just an escort duty home.
