just been editing my bookmarks. finished up and thought "shouldn't forget to get rid of the backup file I made"
some evil posessed me and *poof* they were both gone.

Heh, if you worked where I do that would result in you earning "The Wuss Award". This is a little statuette that gets passed around when people make stupid mistakes. Over the years it has had many little additions to remind us of the reasons it was awarded, including a pirate flag for the "ahem" software copying that systems security found out about, a false bollock for when one of the guys treated himself to a vasectomy for his birthday (no really) and some flames to remind us of the guy who managed to set fire to his terminal. If I remember I'll take a photo and post it here when I go back to work in the new year.

Right, i set it up/plugged it in etc. When windows booted on my c partition, it said Volume of partition to big or something
( an error msg i had never seen b4). So i unplugged the culpit and tried again, this time it got onto the option menu (safe mode) etc. So i chose, "normal Mode" and it stalled at that point. Then i repeated the steps, but chose safe mode. It loaded the files and stalled on one and would not let me go any further.
So i decided to go into bios, and have D; as my drive to boot from. I did that with no problem, but wouldnt let me get past the menu screen. So i restored the defaults and phoned the help line thing
I tried their pieces of advice and none of em worked, and because i couldnt get back into windows, i couldnt backup any of my c: data. So i had to f-disk C: and re-install windows. It now works fine etc.

If you used a proper desktop OS ie WinXP you would not have become confused and deleted everything
