Whoa - my comp just got pwned...

Visited a usual site - never had any problems with it in the past and before I clicked anything I got about 3-4 different virus alerts before my desktop started flashing on and off etc.

How the fuck can something infect you before you've even clicked on anything?

It might be that you visiting that site was just a "co-incidence".

YEah, wasn't doubting your security.

It's like, umm..you're the safest driver in the world and someone just thought it's a "fun" idea to cut your breaklines.

You know, where there's a way, there's a wanker abusing it.

Damage control, save what you can, worst case redo all. It migt seem harsh and a "big" thing, but after a few clean ups, i'm kind of used to sending myself emails with "important" stuff etc and have a finger on my nuke/repassword all button.

i don't have the ability to help you much, just can say, sh*t that it happened to someone i know, even if internetually.

I have access to the comp again thank god (was posting on laptop before).

I just found it scary how it can happen so easily. Took about 5-6 programs to remove this all but I was successful.

Have had problems with Virtumonde before. Isnt that the virus whic disguises as an antivirus or what not? And it pops up and shows various infections whic is not really there.

There is a trojan going around that redirects sites using the host file. So you think your heading to usualsite.com but it redirects you do a site that shafts you with all the normal malware pish. Can be a bad virus as you can't make it to any helpful websites unless you know the IP.

I love those things. Got a few tools on my PC on campus which'll abuse 90% of all the ones that come up, kinda a collection of "fuck off hijack" tools.. Is great.
