thus proving that chewbacca has more strength than arnie or danny so wouldnt actually need weapons (and the weapons they used in bothe pred and pred2 were kind of reliant on strenght and skill). AFAIK predator doesnt actually have claws and while its stated that they have them but its against a code of honour to use them im damn sure a wookiee would deploy them if he felt seriously threatened.
Also the fact that they are both intelligent species makes it a pretty even match but again i would say that predator relies pretty much on his weapons and other gadgets (cloaking device, medical repair kit etc) and wookies have a fast rate of recovery without medical kits.

The AVP movie sucked in atleast that aspect. Those predators were sh*te at fighting. It was like watching chewbacca's less intelligent brother in law fighting a mocking bird...with an autocannon... and loosing.

Ye old books and such have a lot better breed of preds in them

Well the Predators in AVP were adolescent Predators. They were sent there as a test as part of their cultural development. A predator of the type that Arnie fought would have performed a lot better.

If i remember correctly, young predators get all sorts of tests and aliens have been their "arch" nemesis for ages.

They've fought all sorts of creatures and on this i base my assumption that a full grown, adult predator could easily stand ground against a wookie. *nods*

I thought that the predators created the template and the aliens for the 'ultimate bounty kill' or something like that, basically just creating the aliens for themselves to kill and get pleasure from and create the strongest Predators. Pity AVP didn't have much of a storyline :/

Not quite, I thought they hunted species accross the galaxy came accross the aliens and they were the hardest. So they then used a primitive race (humans) to cultivate Aliens so they could test themselves, a right of passage of sorts. I think that was the jist of the last movie anyways.
