Its official, there are more black people in America than racists. As much as i wanted Obama to win and happy that he is, the last few days all i saw in the papers and news was black people talking about getting him in. I felt he was just pining to the black community just like McCain was aiming at the hillbillies and soldiers

Good day for the world...Hopefully

Its great news for America that he did infact win and 2bh now he is in I really cant see the republicians move him, its a 2 term president.

The republicians will rally behind Palin as she represents the very sort of right wing of republicanism, which will isolate them further and make it easier for Obama to make it 2 terms.

Lets just hope he lives long enough to make it 8 years in the White House.

Well like MY thread proves, quite many thought this :D

It's only a matter of time before someone tries for immortality in history books by taking obama out, but i think obama is clintonesque enough to dodge bullets

Well, your dad smells.

Stop getting into bed with him then

I just think it was more to do with race, record numbers for voters. Thats cause all the blacks and mixed race decided to vote purely to get a black man in. I bet a years wagers most of them wouldnt have bothered voting otherwise.

I'm glad he got in tho, McCain/Palin tag team really scared me

lol well time will tell if they got it right...you can't judge a book by it's cover and all that. I just hope he's as good as he seems to be and it wasn't all just spin, and although it is a great step that America has a black guy in charge I personally don't care what race/colour the guy at the top is as long as he can do the job and do it well, good luck to him.

all i'm glad of is that we haven't got another clinton up there lol.

Surely the fact that he was the better candidate is more important that what colour he is?

I think Clinton was great, he was more about peace than pushing the button, like the Bush family

You'd think that, wouldn't you. Congrats to him, US deserve a change, hope he can make it happen.

yeah but i seem to get the feeling that a lot of people are doing the whole "theres a black man as US Presedent!! woohoo!! its great news!" being black or white does not automatically make you good or bad, like martin luther king said judge men on their abilities not the colour of their skin...and tbh i'd be mighty offended if i got voted in just because of something i had absolutely nothing to do with.

i hope it doesn't turn out to be the case but what if he is a total incompetant ninny who fouls up the country even more and gets everything wrong...will people still be going on about how marvelous he is?

oh and
I think Clinton was great, he was more about peace than pushing the button, like the Bush family

I know a lot of people liked him but i can not understand how a liar (proven liar in a few cases) can be seen as being a good guy in charge...if he lied about the little stuff ("Ah did not have sexual relations wth that woman...thats is not mah sperm...nor is that...that might be or it could be special sauce, ahm not sure" )then what the hell makes people think he was truthful about bigger things? i mean also, the guy was too much of a pussy to admit smoking dope "I did not inhale" does not fill me with confidence, either he is easily lead and pressured in to doing things he does not want to do and makes a show of doing it not to lose face even though he feels its wrong...or he did inhale and lied about it, anyway i see it he comes out looking really bad tbh.

but what the heck, he is just another in a loooong line of liars and cheats that have held positions of power all over the world, at least he didn't blow us all up which is a good point in his favour.

Ez the difference between Clinton and every other polititian is that Clinton was honest and open with his lies, the others just pretend to tell you the truth

I'd rather trust someone i know is lying than someone your just not sure about

well tbh i hope not also, i really would like to (for once) see a good honest person in charge, one who actually does make things better without abusing his power.

if that is the case i hope we can clone him and get one over here too because we sure need one lol.

The thing is, none of them can be honest. If they actually told the public things that are going behind the scenes there would be mass hysteria

rofl only when he got caught, and even then he denied them until the evidence was so much he had no where to wriggle off to... and tbh he shouldn't have been doing these things in the first place its like saying "Oh fred's alright, he'll rob you blind but he always confesses if you notice anythings been taken". Imo the guy in charge should not lie, and this

I'd rather trust someone i know is lying than someone your just not sure about

is just a bit confusing to me, i'd not trust any of them tbh, since when is lying alright anyway? by definition you can't trust a liar because you never know what they have omitted confessing to.

Ok i'll butt out now because my clintonphobia is making me turn green and start bursting out of my clothes and it is too damn cold to be naked and green.

because when someone is blatently lying to you, you can see through it and act accordingly. I have a couple of friends who are compulsive liars so you can work out what they mean when they waffle. But your more hesitant around someone your not quite sure if they are lying or not

How about when you are protecting someones feelings or keeping a child out of danger?

"mummy why cant i go in there?"
"because its full of drug dealers, smack heads and paedophiles"

or

"Mummy why cant i go in there?"
"Because its closed"

I know what i'd rather tell my child

"mummy wheres floppy?"
"He's gone to live on a farm"

or

"Mummy wheres floppy?"
" Well last night when you were asleep a fox broke into the garden ripped open the hutch and completely tore floppy apart then ate him"

Still haunts me

I'm sure Bill was pushing Monica's button, but anyway... :p He was still a great president who did a lot of good.

I'm glad the Democrats are back in power. Let's hope they can fix USA before the right wing fundamentalists vote in another nutjob. :)
