50axe 43bs

or

44hammer 46bs

Kiting would ofcourse be allowed, who would you put your money on... im kindof torn between the 2 specs :)

With the coming patch I would consider 39 Hammer, 50 BS, 18 Parry.
The rest song should actually become good by then... ;)

But pure RvR wise I would probably put my bets on the 50 Axe, 43 BS, 2 Parry spec. At least int he scenario you're describing.

I'm currently 47 hammer, 46 bs and 5 parry....personally I wouldn't go lower than 46 bs, but that's just my opinion. It's easy to get +15 weapon with items and realm ranks anyway, unless you want to take weapon to 50 for the last style..look at it this way (nicked from a daoc board):

"The case for taking battlesong up to 46 is also fairly easy IMO. I will assume that you agree that the absolute minimum for battlesong is 44 (for the DD that will kill so many of your enemies in RvR). The 46 damage add improvement from the 36 is 1.7 dps for every one else in your group not just you. Let's say that there are 2 other tanks in your group benefitting from your damage song. Including yourself, that means that 3*1.7 = 5.1 dps more damage are being generated. This is equivalent to about 1/3 the 16.1 dps of a level 50 player. Not bad for 91 skill points. Spending 91 skill points on your weapon skill will not generate anything even close to 5.1 dps."

Even if you count for it solo, the increased weapon skill wouldn't even generate more dmg than the dmg add...

Why have that high weapon specc when you can get weapon over 50 easily with SC armor? Honestly having weapons over 50 doesnt do THAT much difference.

The 50 axe style is an ok style, can't get it if you don't spec 50 axe.

i respecced from 46 bs 39 weapon, rest parry... to 43bs 50 weapon

and my damage is far higher and far more constant

hitting hibernian scale for 400-500 before crits on most attacks.

Before my respec my anytime style would hit for 200ish damage on most targets.

i hit my cap on Tyrs fury of 680ish more than i can count.

I havn't played my skald since SC so havn't tried with 50+15, but the way i see it...would you rather hit for

a) 50 or so extra damage on your DD every 20 seconds
or
b) hit significantly higher every swing, plus the added bonus 'not' be parried, blocked, evaded etc

with my 50 axe spec, i could beat Hero's with little/no kiting.

Edit: found an old log vs RR5/6 Hero, just some random figures...

When i was 50/43 i rarely got to use havoc/tyrs, but if we stick to the subject, then i think a 50/43 skald will beat most other skalds 1on1 since skalds have shit defensesive abilities. You wont have a hard time doing havoc/tyrs on another skald. But 44-46 bs gets the high body resist chant, which helps alot on DD's and noob skalds that mess and sit down right beside you (eat my havoc sitting you bastard).
