Who is the most infamous person you have met?

While attending the Edinburgh Fringe festival, I had the unfortunate privilege to sit next to Christine and Neil Hamilton (She is an attention seeking Z list celeb, he is a disgraced Tory MP!) during the Craig Hill show. Needless to say that the show was in danger of being taken over by them :S

So, I was wondering - who is the most famous person you have met, who is famous for the wrong reasons?

I used to live with my parents in Godley, Hyde. On a couple of occasions in the mid to late 90's we had to call out an emergency doctor and he happened to be on duty both times. To be honest he seemed quite nice if a bit shy, just shows you how wrong you can be about someone.

I met Jordan once in a club called Julies 2 in Newcastle.. managed to blag a pec on the cheek.. but with the benefit of hindsight, one wonders why.

edit: Probably most famous person I have met is Alan Shearer, but he is not really infamous just a Legend

My grandfather (amazing guy) during his long life (he is 84 now I think) has been good friends with Bertrand Russell, keeps in regular contact with Desmond Tutu and Prince Charles, used to babysit Christopher Reeve, and nearly ran Einstein over (was after his v. important work though, so nothing to worry about!). I think thats pretty impressive.

I on the other hand have met Duncan Goodhew (olympic swimmer) and um...think that's it tbh!

I met Vernon Kaye once as well in Manchester a couple of years ago and you are right, he is a really good bloke, myself and a couple of mates had a good chat with him for about an hour before some bloke from Granada turned up late to meet him.

Not really infamous people, but some semi-famous ones:


I`ve met a couple of chess pros in my life. Some of them are quite strange people.
Robert Hubner (best german player in the 80es) is one of the strangest people ever. I asked him for an autogram (hey, I was young!) and his signature was about 3-4 millimeters high and a little over 1 cm long.

I sat next to Michail Tal at a tournament. This was an impressive moment. The great Tal, former World Champion, also called "the magician"... and he was just a small, skinny old man with a crippled hand.

At a german Chess TV match between Timman and Tony Miles (UK), I sat on a chessboard with Tony Miles´ girlfriend, during the match, analysing the game with her.

Vlastimil Hort is an honorable member of the chessclub I`m playing in. He´s a very nice person to talk to and has forgotten more about chess than I`ll ever know.

Other famous people... I briefly spoke to Andre Sarasani (the guy who´s owning the Circus), Ian Livingston (Eidos) and Bob Bates.

I met Tyrone from Corrie on Friday nite! Haha i was out in Manchester and i saw him in the toilets so i said "Shouldn't you be in Weatherfield?" lol then started talking to him from then on! He told me that it was his 24th b-day .. his gf lived in Robin Hood (Near Rothwell if any1's from Leeds) and he was a big Super League fan .

Also met Danny McGuire and most of the Rhinos on a night out and they were drinking too .. met 3 Inches Of Blood and got them to sign my album cover xD

Met guitarist from Trivium too .. bought him a JD & Coke and talked to him for a while ..
