tbh Ray Mears is somewhat more low-key than Bear Grylls. Not that I do not enjoy the thrill of Bear doing something cool, but things like pictures of Ray sitting in the woods by a fire making a paddle just do it for me

the lengths he goes to make a shelter is fantastic, he even makes ornaments for the shelter (cantstick holders etc) And everything he ever eats is "fantastic" even if its a bit of tree bark

He is ex-SAS actually, reason he is no longer in is because he fell in a parachuting accident and shattered 3 vertebrae, 2 years after that he became the youngest Briton to climb Everest (and return alive ) I lost alot of respect for him though when I read he had a kid called Marmaduke.
