found it funny that the complete mmorpg noobs in our guild had no problem levelling (even solo!) but you kept swearing and whining all the time about how everything was going wrong and was so difficult, i was really wondering how the fuck you managed to do that

Yes so you dont have to wait 30 mins - 1h to get a group up and running to actually do anything. If you want to just group you can easly just farm instances in FG's to lvl.

Also quite a few quests lvl 40+ end up in Elite quests which you wont be able to solo but you will be able to do the pre steps solo.

Plus nothing stopping you from duo'ing or trio'ing quests.

Hate WoW by all means UndyingAngel but whilst you can solo in WoW you can also group. Elite quests cut in from about level 10 and instances like Van Cleef (there is a fun one in the Barrens as well for Horde and Alliance) from about level 20. In addition some of the fastest experience going can be had in a small group doing multiple quests in a particular area.

Remember that Wow is new. Lots of people solo'd in DAoC early on - doing their tasks etc. (we didn't have the 100gp handouts!). Some of us formed guilds in the first week but mine, like many, had a torrid start but we had a good core of laid back people and from memory we had all come from either EQ, UO or AC so we knew the pitfalls. (Circle of Power back, GoP these days).

There was a lot of soloing though and no PvP. In this regard WoW is actually ahead of the curve because you can PvP if you want at very low levels.

At the high end WoW changes again and you start to become tacical. Shackle, Banish, Sheep, Silence, Tongues, Mind Control - you use what your group has group has got. I say group but typically at high 50s and 60 you are talking raids. You also realise just how well abilities are distributed. Mostly you can manage with most combinations of class providing you have some sort of mix - although when you get to the even harder raids (Onyxia's Lair say) you will want to ensure that you have enough of certain classes in your raid group of 40. A lot of high end stuff is about teamwork but if you want you can still solo. (Your priest has experiences to come Lama).

i did practically everything up to 60 in a our group with 5, difference is that you CAN solo without the exp rate being a complete pain in the arse

and no, the elite end game dungeons (and those of your level) cant be solo'd

WoW got sooo booring after 1 month and espesially after dinging 60 with my main char...it had all expectations fulfilled before/during but not after lol, the PvP system is S H I T with large letters.

Im going to give daoc 1 last chance when catas arrive i think. DAoC has the best PvP/RvR system of all games in the world

i would never ever even considered going back if it werent for my 2 fully ToAD /MLd RvR ready chars i already got thou. Can never be arsed to go through that crap again
