just wondering because gorre just went english, meaning we can all go test out respecs on the test server before we finally get patched (this week probably)!

personally i'm gonna be trying out charonel's full mana spec, will be a laugh and anyone who wants to see me die repeatedly can come watch me xp and laugh a lot

anyway, since gorre is there, all you respec people can get yer xp deaths there where it doesnt matter, so you dont have to do it on the live servers where it does , just reckoning thid's gonna be pretty empty tonight that's all, but good luck with your /respecs

EDIT: and no, arrowshot's not getting respecced at all, i've got him exactly specced how i wanted him to be , could use some more +skill items but apart from that he's just fine

gorre is the patch test server, there's instructions on how to log onto it on the main daoc europe website.

basically they test patches there, players go on and if there's any probs etc.. let them know, saves them having to shut down the live servers due to unexpected probs like in the past, it also means that since it get's patched earlier than the live one's (for testing purposes ) you can download the patch earlier to avoid the rush when everyone downloads it all at once when the patch goes live (i've already downloaded 1.52 for instance, even though it doesnt go live until later in the week (I HOPE)), meaning there'll be no problems downloading it, and i wont be in the position of not being able to play until the 13mb download has finished either

basically they switch char databases between the french primary server, german and english one's, the english one is excal afterall, so all your chars get copied across, you can play them there and test out the new patch, ie 1.52, which comes with respec! so you can test out any respec ideas on the test server without having problems finding that you dont like it and not being able to fix things.

personally this means that tonight i'll be playing 1.52 on gorre to test out my full respec to being a mana eldritch rather than a full void one , fully expect tons of others to do the same so i'd reckon thidranki is going to be a little empty on excal tonight

my elds lvl 36 now which gives a good range of the mana spells to a decent lvl, will be a good time to test them all out, especially since xp deaths wont matter on the test server, as they dont get transfered to excal

been solo xping charonel in collory for the last god only know how many lvl's though, allways a fun place

decided to respec arrowshot on gorre for a laugh too ,

gonna be:

22+2 stealth
21 path
13+3 pierce
6 cd
1 recurve bow

(i think, havent checked the char builder since dinnertime so can't remember exactly, he's gonna be gimped beyone all recognition, but hell it's gonna be funny

done my gimped spec with arrowshot on gorre tonight, great fun , and i have to say i'm amazed at the utter speed that 24 stealth get's you!

one thing i noticed though is that when you /respec all you get all autotrain points! when i did it i had 7 recurve bow for free even though i never autotrained it during lvling, with that in mind i've hit the char builder and have to warn people, arrowshot will have better meelee (still shit though ) and almost max stealth!, whilst still having max bow and even higher pathfinding than before! .

so should be much more enjoyable when we get patched on wedensday!

EDIT: goddamnit i wish eldritches autotrained ANYTHING

P.S. other things i noticed were bind stones at the border gates, so no riding back from tir na mbeo anymore! and the new arrows are in! so phear me chain wearers!!!!! i'll have footed flight thrust arrows now along with blunts (bit pointless really considering you shoudlnt be shooting armsmen anyway ) as well as the usual footed flight slashers

to anyone who doest know about arrows, we already had the footed flight types of each damage, but the blunts and thrust one's were on a lower damage table than slash, now we have all three types on the same highest damage table that slash (ie broadheads) had allways enjoyed, so now us rangers/hunters/scouts get to chose damage type from between blunt/slash/thrust and still do max damage with each , bloody LOVE this patch! hasteners are "teh rox" too, especially for hibs who need to run through their entire bloody frontier most of the time

but did a who /thid and i was the ony alb there and after running around for 10 min....i was the only one there...couldn't even test it

so ran up to the hib guards and did a suicide...did full stealth respec....and it kinda sucks

so no respec needed for my mincer anyway
