Who are these fake EXC 'Purple Warriors'?

Weird.

Purple Warriors were started years ago in another game (UO) by Kralina.

We came to DAoC BETA, en masse, and set up Purple Warriors on Excalibur, then when the game went live we ALL moved to Prydwen.

Nice to know that the 'Purple Warriors' name carries enough weight for someone on Excalibur to want to cash in on it

Those claiming to be 'Purple' on Excalibur are but a pale imitation of the real guild *grins* so get used to it...

If not. I don't see any problem with anyone else using it?

As far as I know Purple warrior guild as been around for quite some time on Excal, so its also abit late to whine about it.

But I suggest you start register that guild name on all upcoming mmorpg game, and all servers, if you don't want it to happen again.

And those of us who play on Excalibur have actually known this for quite some time so I'm sure you had another reason other than just being a stirring shite??? (Not).

Personally I've found all the PW guys on Excalibur are a jolly nice bunch. So far the only examples we've had of the 'original' PW guild is that they like to come and stamp their feet and sound like petty children moaning that their guildname is being used elsewhere/

As has been pointed out, trademark it if you don't want it using anywhere else or form Purple Warrior guilds on every MMORPG going so noone else can use the name.

There's someone else using my name on Pryd but I haven't been onto their boards and posted a waaaaaaaaaah someone's using my name thread.

WTF you mean by they are fake? If you say PW was started in the beta...then its the same as it is now. I doubt ALL moved to Prydwyn of what you say...some must have stayed behind to play.

You point your whole hand towards any member of PW/Excal in the line 'Those claiming to be 'Purple' on Excalibur' as I am 'Purple' in Excalibur(I do belong to that guild).

I started to play DAOC in March this year, and dont know anything about the history of the game, nor do I care. The guild is only a bunch of people who like to have fun together as I see it.

Do you think your post here will make it easier for me to have fun? I think not, seeing there's plenty of people who actively search for reasons to 'point finger' at one or another for any reason they find.

Hopefully people will treat the members in our guild as they should. People who like to have fun playing DAOC. No matter the history here or in any other game(Can't really believe people take this so seriously about a game either.. Remember, its not real...)

Btw, if I see ANY character with the name 'Thumb' in any game from here on should I point my fingers at them and declare 'THEFT'?
As I am, among those I know in DAOC, known to be a nice person(I hope) and that any other player could make my name less 'valuable'?

All I see on the PW website(www.purplewarriors.net) is one line (in ABOUT US) that says 'was founded by Geir (Weston) after the beta' so I don't understand where you found the info about 'the original PW from beta' you are reffering to?. Please enlighten me.

this has already been discussed in a thread at the start of the servers and that thread got brought to live again a few months ago. So you already have discussed this and it has been settled in some way or another. The name isnt yours, if you had wanted that you should have created the guild on excal aswell. Now they dont say anything about you on their site, they might have done it some time ago.
However if you know this than that means that you also know that this has already been discussed and this is a rather useless thread as the people on excalibur who knew PW in beta know that excal pw isnt the same group and the people who dont know that wont really care about it anyway. So why exactly did you create this thread?

You ever tried talking to any of us, especially me and Geir, in-game? Or are you too fond of leaping in with "fake" accusations that you're not even going to bother to try and talk to us?

And BTW this was, as several have pointed out, posted AGES ago. I stand by who we are, PWs on Excal....ask anyone who's grouped with me or played with me, I am happy to be judged on how I and the rest of PWs are in-game.

Anyone who had decent level in the beta has prolly heard about PW.

Urgat, Theshade, Oddirstegi(!), Irma, Baston, Dezcyron, Sorba, Radium, Obesnor, Chesnor and Solid (I think) are some guys who were in PW in the beta.

Funnily enough none of whom are the two people who've posted over here about the Excalibur Purple Warriors 'stealing' their guildname/identity etc.

So seems to me the original PW guys playing on Mid/Pryd probably couldn't care less that there's a PW guild on Mid/Excal and it's just people trying to get a name for themselves that have come stirring up the shit again.

I was a member of the original PW for a while.

The first guild to be set up in beta after the first major wipe....the largest guild on the server for most of beta...one of the most respected guilds on the server back in the old days. Anyone who played in beta has heard of them.

More people are ex-PW than you might think

However, since I now play on excalibur, I also have the pleasure of knowing some of the Excal-PW too. And most of them are really decent people, even if they do recruit GoV-rejects

No, the excal PW aren't the 'real' PW - but they are still a good guild, and to be honest, they, for the most part, carry on the tradition of what PW is all about, so if you're worried about that, you shouldn't be. PW-Excal is in good hands.

Yes, Purple Warriors is a great guild full of great people - that is true for both PW - not just the Prydwen guys.
