Hard to decide wether to put a sad or angry smile on top of this post. Hard to think of a good story to, so I'll just say what troubles my heart.

What is wrong with all these people whining lately?

Is it just me or do people whine a lot lately? Bla bla offensive sniping, blabla, sniping at all, blabla, alias, blabla teams, blabla lucky, blablablabla.

SO WHAT if I am an aliased guy, that loves sniping and owns with it, who happens to be on the winning team and makes a lucky return AND cap?

I'm seriously gonna try this out, think I'll enjoy tribes more.

PS: this post is about whining anyways, so why cant i say something myself:
funny how some people go observer lately, and happen to be unable to join the team they were on (losing) when the phonecall is over? well, too bad, then join the winning team

PS2: I tried hard and succeeded in not naming anyone in this post.

Yeah BB, there is a lot of it at mo...maybe its frustration at having to wait for t2...ppl are going over the same topics again and again.

Worse than the whining is the admins that kick ppl for not playing Tribes how "they" think it should be.

well yea
unfortunately with the game of Tribes TK is very tempting especially when ppl get bored, however the public server are ok a lot of the time. You should see what the demo servers are like tkin is frequent (no BWadmin mod in demo)and arguments start for apparently no reason. As for the full game it is getting boring but thankfully T2 will be out soon

I'm guilty of the "Teams" whining at times.

However, the one that makes me laugh/cry is the 'No off sniping' "rule". Last night (for example), I was off sniping on a BW server. Not making a habit of it, just to help clear the way for my team's capper. I sniped an opponents head off ( a [TD] player if I recall) and I got "Lame" and "Lame off sniping". Well that was it! I made a point of sniping this guy for a couple of minutes since he'd whined about it. I stopped after that, but he bugged out not long after.

My point? Who the hell decided that offensive sniping was "lame"? I could turn around and say "Base trashing is lame" or "Using an ELF gun is lame". The fact is that online there is no level playing field, and everyone is out for the advantage they can get. Ergo, nothing is disallowed. Get used to it.

Isn’t the point of O sniping to piss off the LD?

As you will never be able to clear all of the defenders the most you can hope to achieve is to put them off their job.

So isn’t it understandable that this will upset some people?

O sniping is much easier than defensive sniping as there are far more stationary targets to aim at, which is probably why there are more O snipers out there than D snipers.

There is nothing wrong with sniping someone when there standing still or chatting, in the same was as there’s nothing wrong with mining re-spawn points but its quite likely someone will call you lame, but that’s why there’s a mute option.

Offence sniping is a valid tactic and it is annoying (/me cant remember how many times his turrets have been killed because of it) but surely the person(s) should grit theyre teeth and get on with it or go kill the sniper.....

Offensive sniping is a valid tactic. The light D get pissed because it puts them off and if yer lucky, kills them.

"Oh i'm sorry for killing you mr Light D, i'll just run up to you and lay my weapons down, make it easier for you."

There is nothing lame about O sniping. If it wasn't meant to happen in Tribes, you would have a certain range on it from your base. Even in Tribes v1.0 without scripts you could O snipe, it's nothing new like Heavy O in which most of us need jump.cs.
