Relics are meant to be fought over. Time of day doesnt matter, I didnt even know midgard had taken any keeps until I logged on and did /relic this morning.

It's nice to see relics changing hands and lets face it, I give midgard 2 days with those relics before they're back in hibernia or albion... why? because they dont have the population to defend them.

I think they did very well with 45-50 people

I think it's about time hibernia got off it's arse and had a go at albion, a real effort not 1 off relic attempts every few weeks. Quit pissing about in emain you farmers

4- Hibs are trying the imposible to take alb relics but... its just no way with 32423525234tin cans bound at sauvage. Unless we end up making a raid at 6am as total losers...



If late nite relic attacks start again as sum months ago then there will b no point/achievement, just ping pong relics, raiding undefended keeps... Wonder f thats the way u think it should b done, i dont.

I think people should play the game the way they want and stop caring what other people think or playing the popularity game. Be loyal to the realm you play in and screw the others over as much as you can.. they're meant to be your enemies remember?

Unfortunately even with 40-50 defenders at a relic keep it's almost impossible to take it without having an absolutely huge force.. which usually causes a zone crash anyway You'd think they'd sort that problem out

Here's something to mull over, power relics don't make Mids very good, infact they stay very gimped. Can't even one-shot a lvl24 cabalist and they get hit by lvl21 pets too. Infact, they have trouble killing deep grays, like the following pictures prove

Here's a Thane who had trouble killing me, it required 2 uses of his insta-dd, while I got him to less than 75% hp with my stacked lvl21 dots and also 35% nearsighted him. Hope the RP (10?) gained makes him feel a bit better. I was going to make him chase me to CS guards, but sadly his DD was back online...

This picture shows how hard it is for 4 middies to kill the same cabalist in Emain, first they have to behave childishly (Xionati /laughing at me after /crying at them). The real "surpriser" is Edo, who fails to pierce thru my self-bt (even orange ranger guards in Thidranki succeeded in that). Well, Xionati propably has +0 charisma for his DD's, because he couldn't one-shot me with it (did 343 damage - not enough, gimp). You can also see Edo get hit by my lovely lvl21 simulacrum, which I suspect did 1-4 damage to him. I hope this group of 4 middies is now happy with their new gained RPs, it might have raised them to R1L2.

I agree that DAoC is a 24/7 game and therfore keep/relic attacks can be viewed as legitimate, BUT where is the honour in these sorts of raids at these sorts of hours? Yes Middies need a relic back and yes Middies are struggling at the moment, but IMHO the ends are not justified by the means.

Relic raids ought to be viewed as the pinnacle of the RvR experience, and not fall into the keep take and retake that is the norm. The fact is that the Mids tried, and failed at Excalibur at 1.30 am GMT. They then proceed to attack the Hibs in the safe and comfortable knowledge that most sane people are tucked up in their pits. I therefore do not share the "well done to the Mids " view, rather that they have lost a certain degree of credability by their actions.

But is IS serious
The only class my level 50 Thane can solo *sometimes* are Infiltrators, there rest is pretty much certain death. Granted, I'm only RR2, but it's hard to gain any RPs apart from grouping in Emain and hiding behind the healer instead of going into the melee

Tired of hearing all this whine of the relic raids to be honest. For us hibbies we just got to restore the relics to their rightful owners (Us ) for the albs please stop whining - they tried they failed end of story. Also it is deeply hipocritical of albs in general to talk about honour when:
A: you travel out of your way to gank greys xping "I repeat blah blah in warzone blah blah I must kill those greys and bring 1fg or more of my friends with me to do so blah blah". Some even make posts about it to boast.
B: You travel about in emain in 1fg that has at least 32 slots ^^ farming people in lesser numbers and then have the audacity to whine when the aforemention people cotton on and decide to zerg you back, instead of sending themselves like lambs to the slaughter one fg at a time ^^.

Btw grats on the raid middies bought time your realm pulled its finger out of its arse and actually did something for once But like I said don't expect to be holding on to hibernian property much longer kthxbye

i'm not gonna take it seriously, but thanes aren't supposed to be running around spell casting everything to death, they're a hybrid tank ffs , they have some spell casting to round them out a bit, but they're tanks all the same, and there was you, a full blown clothcaster, this is gonna even out a magic battle no end.

middies can hit damn hard, just try posting a comparison from and actual middy caster and you'll see the difference, getting bolted for over 1583 damage ain't nice (yes i know it's a crit, which makes the actual damage something like 950+, get hit by that then say their gimpes in magic )

basically, middie isnt gonna be making as much use from the relics as hib, i agree, but they WILL make a difference, and middy isnt quite so gimped magic wise as people like to think, it's just that most people, when they play mid, dont make mages, midgard is the meelee realm afterall, this is also why you see fg's of chanters running about xping in hib, because were a magic realm, therefore we have LOTS of mages

it's not the individual damage of their casters that's less than the other realms, if it comes to it they actually out damage hib in that respect, same as alb, what with hib having no 219 ranged DD like mid and alb, and both other realms spec bolts being much higher damage than ours etc... the difference isnt the individuals, it's that when fighting mid you may get hit by 1 mage, two at most usually, when fighting against hib you'll usually get nuked by 5 mages at once

p.s. 1 of hibs power relics turned to hibs wont make any diference to mids, will only loose hibs 10% of their caster dmg bonus (1 relic gaines no bonus, 2 gains 10%, 3 gains 20%)

Aye, prolly u have by the time NP/CE were there but not this time... and btw albs havent relicraided at 4-6am gmt for pretty long already, they do it at 9pm-1am gmt(read - primetime) instead, getting wiped and dont whine bout it. And if they wanted they could easily own all 6 relics by now acting in the same way as mids so...

Chance to pierce BT is comparison between attackers level vs BT-casters level. No idea though how the chance is calculated, but a BT casted by a lowlvl is less useful to a highlvl.
