I've yet to introduce my new career as a DAoC movie director on the General Discussion forum, and I am sure what with the servers being unavailable to most of us still, you all have some time to kill.

So, feel free to download the movies on the below URLs:

"First Line of Defense" is my "promotional" movie for my guild, Shadowlords Society:

"Assualt on Mjollnir" is an account of the recent (last Friday) successful relic raid on Mjollnir on Excalibur:

Oh, and feel free to post links to other movies we can all download and view while we fight our common withdrawal symptoms.

You need the DivX codec (http://www.divx.com) in order to be able to view the movies (if you only get sound and a black screen, this is a sign you need to get DivX). The movie themselves were captured using Fraps (http://www.fraps.com), a software-only DirectX capture program, and edited using Adobe Premiere.

EDIT: Extra information I forgot to add.

.avi should really open in Windows Media Player - right? .....

You need DivX, -www.divx.com-.
Download that, and it'll work for sure (unless you screwed something up).

Open winamp up, select options>Prefrences>system>media
Deselect avi association and any other stuff u don't want winamp to open. By default wmp should open everything else up.

how do you "deselect" them? .. I tried pushing "del" and all them other buttons

Updated the original post. You need DivX to be able to see any video and not just audio, see http://www.divx.com for the download.

My pretty piss-poor efforts, but it's a learning process as I always like to say. Mainly to cover up for the fact I’m not that good at it, but anywho. Please excuse bad quality on the earlier ones as I didn’t work out how to use the editing program until later on. Also, some of the jokes are pretty bad and there are typos that I haven’t been arsed to correct – it’s generally pretty half-arsed. But enough with my excuses:

downloaded divx and watched the movies...what can i say but brillant,

particularly like guild 1....think the music fits so well with the video.

Excellent movies Belomar, enjoyed them a lot... however you are an Alb AND a minstrel so I guess that helps!!!

For those of you who want to know trhe music I believe the music for the relic raid is the theme to Crimson Tide.

Aladora in her DF movie used the Nighwish version of this tune very effectively. That was one of the first game movies I ever saw and my jaw dropped!

You must be using the purchased version of fraps... don't you find it produces very large files? My recent movie was distilled from 2.5 hours of AC raiding...
