Vowed some time ago to never buy another compilation, should've stuck to that, succumbed to the above titled double CD. What a mistake! It has a scattering of decent tracks but the rest are positively unknown, and some with hardly any guitar. The title track isn't even George Harrison!

So got out the original White Album on vinyl, just to hear the one track, one of my all time favourites, and my deck wouldn't work, not a very old one either.

So decided to buy it in CD form. I've ended up spending the best part of £40 just to listen one track! And now I feel I out to get a new deck, even tho I rarely use it, so more expense.:(

what's wrong with compilations? i've bought some excellent ones over the years. they're a great way of sampling music from a genre you're unfamiliar with.

I must've been unlucky then, have had some really awful rock albums.

generally avoid anything that is on sale in supermarkets or service stations.

the rough trade shops compilations are brilliant. the trojan boxsets are good too.

I think you need to avoid compilations when they're on their 3rd or 4th release and struggling for tracks. While My... was good for the first maybe 2nd release but they soon struggle to fill it with anything good. Flogging, dead, horse?

Difficult, I live in a flat. I can annoy the neighbours enough! They must know every time I'm in the bath cos of the VERY loud music.

If you want to take video/audio or any file you want from a site you can use File2HD.com for free. After that there are a number of free downloadable video to mp3 converters out there.

Disclaimer : Note it is a legal site to use but be warned though, it's illegal if you don't get the users permission in the same sense torrents are... so <cough> don't use it on random youtube links <cough>.

P.S. Have ditched the deck and bought a cheap new one from the good old Daily Mail. Sacrilege I know but it doesn't look too bad and at least it works.

Maybe, I'll let you know how long it lasts. Only thing I've had from them before was some solar panel lights. Thinking about it they're slightly dodgy!
