After 5 years it's still pretty strong so only thing that will kill daoc is time itself. People will find other games more appealing in the end, or simply get bored of seeing/doing the same thing over and over and over and so on.

Neither would have been a nice option. Lack of subscriptions will eventually cause the game not to be online in future. Although I suggest that Freeshard (don't mod me for saying it ) will keep the game online for those that will continue to play after the decision to pull the plug happens in some years to come. Not that I am suggesting that you should use Freeshard at any moment despite the prevalent dichotomy of opinion that is obvious on this forum.

No game kills any other, any observation of gaming and how they are played online proves that. People are still playing Quake 2/3 online and they are donkey's years old.

The game might die one day but be thankful for the memories and laughs - that will always be the over riding thought of daoc - not of flawed classes, OP'd Ra's and all that old bollox but the sheer memories . . .
