Hey guys, looking through buymobilephones.net deals and have found a few pretty nice offers on Vodafone anytime, 12 month contract, 500 x-network mins, 250 texts and 12 month full line rental rebate, so at the end of the 12 months I should pretty much have paid nada! Great.

Now I know what contract I want, I need to figure out what bloody phone to get!

The main choices as I see them are these:

Nokia 6300, looks quite small and nice
W850i white/black - Not sure about the flip and doubt id ever use 3G, but I still like it
W810i black - I like the phone, just not sure if the w850 is better or not..
LG Chocolate - Looks sexy, just don't know much about its usability!

Those are the 4 that look the best to me, but if there are other ones i've discounted prematurely let me know, the offer link is here: Mobile Phone Special Offers at BuyMobilePhones.net

Cheers guys!

For me, the only phones I look at are ones I don't have to charge every few hours. I'm not massively bothered by features like most, but as long as it can phone from abroad and maybe even have a sim card option to put a few MP3s on, I'm happy. I've a W810i, its not a bad phone really. If your moving about a lot, try not to knock the phone... its not as tough as others like th Nokias, I'm on my 3rd in 1 month ;)

I myself will be buying the SE W580i when its released in the next few weeks, it has a retail price of 170 quid, quite cheap for a new release.

Reasons being is that ive started a training plan to help me lose weight and get fitter and the phone has fitness software on it. Other obvious reasons is the walkman, but the shake to shuffle feature has to be the best reason.

Anyway just my 2 pennies worth.

Out the ones you mention get the W850, the W810 is old now and the Chocolate is rubbish. The 6300 is a good phone also, but the battery isnt as good as the one on the W850. Out the ones on the page I'd go for the K800i though, clearly the best phone on there.

I've got a W880i, it's very yummy and small. It can go about 2 days without being charged (assuming you're not on the phone all the time :p)

I used to feel the same, but most the time I work from my laptop (well all the time) so felt using the PDA was a pain in the :kissit:

I'd say the N95 but I've not used it myself, but a few at work have them and like them.

I find most modern phones use the battery up massively, more features I guess :(

This website should help

I have just got a Nokia 6120 on 3 - £15 a month for 250 x-net mins, 50 texts, plus £10 a month extra and you get a free Slingbox (very very handy if you have Sky Tv) and 80 hours of streaming from either your Skybox or direct from your PC - can watch movies stored on your PC on ya phone etc, 1gb of internet browsing, 5000mins Skype calls, 10000 messages or something on MSN Messenger and lots of other little bits n bobs, tis the future!!

I got a great deal and good service when I bought my 3 phone last year, its such a shame they are not getting the new Motorolas. That is the only reason I changed to Vodaphone tbh.

Hi Yaka

Have you considered some of HTC's devices? They arguably make the best Windows Mobile phones (and some PDAs), and the batteries in the high-end models have higher ratings than your Dell device. Obviously things like 3G, WiFi etc. drain the battery quicker, but Windows Mobile allows these to be easily activated and deactivated as needed.

The only downside is that HTC's own-brand devices can be a little expensive (the rebranded network versions are cheaper, but they are usually SIM-locked, sometimes include bloated applications, and sometimes remove features like Messenger and GPS etc.).

Kind regards

Jonty

P.S. As to the original question, I believe Sony Ericsson's handsets have a good reputation for blending form and function (although I've never owned one); Nokia are equally well regarded and, for me at least, have always been reliable (although it's been many years since I last owned one); LG's Black Label range may appeal because the style, but they're quite 'common' and the hardware and software isn't the best.

The handsets you've chosen are quite diverse, so you really just need to think a) what you will use the phone for? b) is form or function more important? etc. No one can decide this things but you :) You may want to check out mobile phone reviews, and comparison websites like GSM Arena, before making your final decision.
