Which Hibernia Classes are needed

Hello everyone,

I've been away from Dark Age of Camelot since I was asked to take part in the Lineage II closed beta which followed to open beta then playing retail.

Anyway I don't have my old Dark Age of Camelot accounts anymore because I gave them to a friend for free and I am still waiting for my new copy of DAoC/SI/TOA which should be in the post and on the way to my front door by tomorrow or the following day.

To get to the point I was wondering if the people of Hibernia could tell me which classes are needed in Hibernia at the moment?

Any information given would help me decide which class to pick. I've played in both Albion and Midgard and had level 50's there, so I thought I would try out Hibernia this time around.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Id say that hib atm is crying out for good active wardens atm.

If your a good enough player, toa sc'ed and got BG and active, then most grp's will be fighting over u tbh hehe.

There are other classes such as bards etc.. that are always needed, but i guess it has to be a class you will enjoy too asmuch as being needed alot.

I once had a level 50 Bard on Prydwen which I enjoyed playing very much, when I my main characters where on Albion/Excalibur. I have never played a Warden so I will look into the Warden class and what template is good to use.

Seeing as I will be using a brand new account it will take me a month or 2 to reach level 50 then more time to get the gold needed for the good sc gear then longer to get some good toa items. I've never had TOA (left before it came out) so that will be a new experience for me in learning something new about DAoC once again :)

Just hope I get lucky and get myself into a good pve/rvr guild that are looking for dedicated Bards or Wardens.

I would say i'm a good player, before I left for Lineage II I was part of White Rose Migard/Excalibur. I had a level 50 Troll S/S Warrior, Ladonna if he is still around would be the only one to give word if I was good or not as I grouped with him most of them time.

Bards imo, if you are confident in your barding skills, then go bard.

Tell me if these templates are ok for the Bard and Warden depending which one I play when I get my game through the post tomorrow or Friday.

(Wish my local game store had Dark Age of Camelot / Shrouded Isles / Trials of Atlantis in stock)

Class: Bard
Race: Celt
Nurture: 43 / Regrowth: 16 / Bard Music: 47

Class: Warden
Race: Celt
Parry: 7 / Blades/Blunt: 29 / Nurture: 47 / Regrowth: 35
or
Parry: 3 / Blades/Blunt: 29 / Nurture: 49 / Regrowth: 33

Think i'll make a Bard as they have more of a major role when it comes to PvE and RvR. Warden are more of a odd job man healing/fighting/buffing, but still good for PvE/RvR. I can heal/buff with my Bard, but if I wanted to fight I would create the main tank class of Hibernia which I may do for an alt.

someone has to ask, whats with all the bold and italic letters? not that it matters, but it seems like a big waste of time to type like that :p

and yeah bard is a good choice, the spec you posted is a good one for rvr :)

We really need a lot more rangers :( Not nearly enough to counter-zerg scouts and mincers yet.

argh vf! you take all the questions i wanna ask >_< anyway, if you go warden be prepared to be useless in NF (so they say) as there will be little to no need for a bg char, nor the pbt - only reason you would want a warden would be for resis

Force of habit i'm afraid. I know it can be annoying. I'll try and not do it again ;)

I was thinking about the Ranger class and because I won't have my old accounts to use money from and i'm not a fan of buying gold from ebay and the other sites, a Ranger will be a very expensive class for me to play. I still have a day to make my mind up, but Bard is still on the top of that list.

While we are still on the Ranger subject what would be the best rvr/pve template to use? I would be the type of Ranger to hit hard then run like hell to avoid getting hit or seen. Also is Lurikeen still the race for Ranger or is the Shar the new boy in town to use?

Thanks for any information

luri all the way :D

harder to target on and around keeps, high dex for "sniping". downside is ofc low str/con but since you don't want to end up in melee too much it's np

Only problem I will face as a Ranger is the fact I won't be using a Buffbot. I have used them in the past with old accounts, but I just don't really use them to be honest. Only time i've ever used them was when I would go to Thidranki. So it's just waste of money in my eyes, which can be spend on something else.

You can still be good player without a buffbot, only challenge would be going 1 on 1 with a fully buffed Hunter/Scout or Infiltrator/Shadowblade depending on the situation.

Anyway here is a Ranger template, please state your opinions on if I should use it or which skills to change it if I do make a Ranger:

Class: Ranger
Race: Lurikeen
Stealth: 35 / Bow: 50 / Celtic Dual: 8 / Piercing: 20 / Pathfinding: 40

I've made my mind up and i'm going to create a Bard. My reasons are because Bards are needed a lot more then Rangers in groups, and a stealther getting a group is like winning the lotto, but Rangers are very good when it comes to RvR just picking off the people not paying attention.

Also with a Bard I don't need to worry about buffbots. I will though make a Ranger as an alt character when I get my Bard to level 50 and the other things which have been added in Trial of Atlantis.

Only things I need to worry about now is finding a guild that needs a dedicated Bard who has played both as an Albion and Midgard so I do have some good experience behind me a few of years (played on the US version when it was first released then moved over to the EU version). I do have previous experience playing a level 50 Bard on Hibernia/Prydwen.

The other thing is to hope that other players have new characters which they want to level so I don't need to worry about leveling up very slowly until I hit level 20 before I can get into some groups to get down some xping.

1 - 20 is actualy not that hard because of tasks. Usualy 1 - 3 days (not /played) and then yer there, its quite broing though imho. Still when yer level 15 or so there are usualy people at parths. Also there are still some people doing the long grind. /who 1 19 4tehwin
