Last couple of nights the BW servers have been almost empty.

I can't believe you ALL have social lives

The few times i;ve tried to play over the last few weeks normally result in me using another server cos the BW ones are empty . Only once was there anyone on them and then it was full so i had to hang around to play.

Arranging with a few people to play on BW works as other people do join later. However it's annoying if you join and its a map like midway or something - those are kinda big and slow to get started.

How about stealing that IRC channel idea that I think I read on the CS forum... when you feel like a game but no-one's on a server, you go in there and when there's enough people, you all join the same server...?

I dunno... I buy Hitman 2, spend 3 days not playing BF1942, and suddenly no-one's playing anymore...

I have now been told that the 213.221.174.71 servers have been taken down until we get our numbers back up to a level where we need that number of servers.

In the mean time I have asked for Conquest 2 to be made friendly fire as per requests.

ok ok, not been on for a while... blew my CPU last weekend so have been steadily rebuilding this week. Should be on by the weekend so that'll be one more regular at least. I'll do the idling in irc #bwbf1942 as suggested.

And then there's my man Panini, who's not had a PC for a while but is taking delivery of one on Friday. He has strict intentions of becoming hooked on this game big time, so that's one more regular. He's bought the game already and has read the manual cover to cover as he waits for the PC to turn up... oh the anticipation - lol.

And then there's our man Griggario, who played a little, liked it then hasn't played since. We'll talk him round soon...

Must admit the gaming experience on the bw bf1942 servers is much better than the other publics EAUK, BY etc so I'll always prefer to play on these if there's people up for it. Only reason I joined BW was to play BF1942 - would be gutted if no one ever played here (have been playing on BW servers since the servers were called Tortured Souls QW !!... ne1 else been around that long?... sheeesh, showing me age now.)

personally i'm not playing it anymore as its too frustrating due to the netcode. maybe many other people are doing that also. maybe things will pick up again when a patch is released that is proven to help things....

Yep. The netcode, or whatever it is that makes vehicles teleport from place to place every 6 seconds, is incredibly goddamn frustrating. I doubt that a patch will help, making a cynical judgement based on the kind of mentality that comes up with the whole "changing map" crap. It's ridiculous when a 24 person match is essentially unplayable.
