The Dictator's Dictator.

None of this namby pamby running off and hiding for this bloke, instead it's lets hire some mercenaries in and bomb the shit out of everyone. He isn't going down without a fight. :twak:

His days are numbered and will hopefully end up in some international court you would hope.

Disappointed at the lack of a Where's Wally? image in this thread.

he could just leave but the stubborn sod has basically said "I'll die here as a Martyr"... no really you won't you'll be hung/shot or beheaded and people won't give 2 fucks about you after that just the same as saddam :p few loyalists here and there sure but over time they simply vanish into the wind.

Let's hope that is the outcome, at the moment I think civil war is more likely :(

I was unsurprised by the Venezuela comments. After all, the west would love to see Hugo's little socialist enterprise fail.

But safe money? Nah - the safe money is that the talk of Venezuela is just us using a tragic situation to have an unwarranted jab at yet another oil-rich country who doesn't want to cooperate with us.

All i know is i was amused watching sky news and all the protesters outside the Libian embassy calling for action, if action was to happen 9 months later they would have their "Stop the illegal/unjust war NAOW" placards out :p

Just give em all guns and let em sort it out between themselves

Yeah but Chavez is a cnut though (anyone who calls Robert Mugabe "a brother" is a cnut by definition). Gaddafi isn't in Caracas, but there are strong ties between to the two and they're fond of using the same "anti-imperialist" rhetoric.

And Hugo's little socialist enterprise will fail; its only a matter of time because the best and brightest in Venezuela are all fucking off to Panama. It also amuses me that he's swapped one set of imperialists for another; Venezuela is choc full of Chinese engineers and businessmen these days.

I am more worried about who replaces all these guys. One thing we had with the dictators is 30-40 years without war, with new governments and potential radicals we could end up with extremists running countries alot closer to home than Iraq or Afghanistan ever were.

Seems a little selfish to support dictators who makes their peoples lives miserable, for the sake of no war for us.
