Ice cream, Haagen Daas Rasberry Panna Cotta being my favourite of choice at the moment.

A long bath with a good book and some nice smelly bubblebath - course this option is a tad girlie so might not suit you

A really good whinge to my best friend about everything that's gone or is going wrong.

A cup of tea and some jaffa cakes.

also, dont think ice cream really cheers people up just lets them wallow in self misery for longer, same as music, as if you're in a crappy mood, generally listen to soppy songs or something depressing (in my case for e.g. semisonic- secret smile)

On a serious note tho bud, not sure how down you are, so if you just feeling a little down, stella atois helps.
But if your really down you need to talk to someone and not bottle it up in any way and no drinking as alcohol is a depressant.

Anything involving exercise, which will allow you to work out any frustration, as well as releasing chemicals into the body to make you feel better.

Food, drink etc... work short term, but can have an oposite effect over the longer term and end up making you feel worse.

Go and play footy in the park with a friend, or go for a walk with some headphones or as an extreem, decorate a room.

Just my advice, but might not be good for everyone

When I am down I try to destract myself. Anything goes there... going out for a walk (I ended up doing 10 km's and more and taking a bus home.), reading a book, calling a friend and just talking stuff...

I also allow myself stuff I usaly dont... try eating icecream while taking a hot bath. Or I cook myself a nice meal. (Works for distraction too.)

Getting drunk is actually a silly idea, if you're talking about drinking on your own at home! Alchohol is a depressant, not a stimulant.

I'd suggest doing something active - go for a run with your iPod.

Kinda feeling down lately myself! Not easy breaking up with you're GF because you're in love with her best friend, and you know she likes you too! But it is just plain wrong, to dump a GF then get together with her best friend!
