Just wondering what's the lowest level as i think most on midgard at level 20 go to the uppland gates for some fresher taste of geting slaughtered but what about us going to them is the level's still the same /early 20's ? or what

does anyone know what level would be able to solo

depends how much you wanna die

at level 30, i have started seeing a few more people i can actually damage, but still loads of purples

I understand that level 40 is the point when no-one is purple to you,

35+ is the level when you can start hitting keep doors, hurt guards (in other words be useful on a raid)

but i have been with many people who dont mind lower levels, as they provide 'cannon fodder' while they can do some damage.

Hope i'm correct in all this, if not, sorry!

This whole question makes me chuckle. For example, if the general advice is '30' then when you go at 30, you will mostly see yellow and higher cons. Ditto if the advice is 20. And 10. And 5. I personally would prefer to see millions of lowbs swarming around the frontiers having a ball fighting other lowbs.

I say to all realms, get your 20+ to the frontiers for some training and fun. If they all go, the 20s will have some1 to fight with while the higher levels do their stuff. It will be chaos of course, but more fun than it is now......

Also It's really depressing seeing lvl40+ players bumble into emain like utter noobs, purely because its their 5th visit or something.

im just wondering coz im gonna be powerleveling over the next week so that i can hopefully get somewhere near 30 with my Shadowblade witch is currently at lvl 19 im planing on creating a Critblade for that 1 shot goodness :)

and i wanna know when i can go kill some

For critblades, if you spec such that you can go RvR ( stealth ) you sacrifice some of your PvE abilities. The sensible way to spec a critblade is to train weap and CS until you are around 35 ( at a guess ) letting stealth autotrain. Then when your halfdings roll in at 40, spec stealth all the way. Most critblades ( because its so hard to get groups ) generally start speccing stealth too early, such that they can go RvR and have some fun.

Ultimately, go when you want. But I personally would build a critblade with a better ability to solo, and sacrifice stealth until around lvl40ish. Then it will be 1shot kill time \o/

Hate to say it but I agree with Dom.. I been out and about as lvl 23 and been cannon fodder.. although I also agree with Chesnor.. if more lower lvls went out then would be more fun and mass wars..

I am fairly aware of the RvR tactics.. well the basics anyhoo but i went out with a few chars a few lvls higher than me and they were totally Noobs... running rite into all the gaurds defending forts and such... :D

The only problem with lowbs coming into RvR... youll get a load of twatty snipers or back stabbers or even a couple of high lvl tanks that will just go and kill them all for no reason...

I dont understand why people kill greys, worth 1 RP and ruins the game for them, I killed a grey once and never did it again cos i thought how annoying it must have been for him... Sinpers are the worst they sit there and waste loads of money on greys.. dear me.. those arrows are prolly worth more than the RP and BP

I understand why people kill greys. I was bored one day, and decided on a trip to Odins Gate. I had a poke around, then headed to the hib tk to see what I could see. What I did see was 2 grey and 1 green hibbies xping on the local wildlife outside the hib tk. They had'nt seen me so I just sat a watched for while. I had no intention of killing them, although I could have easily. I then watched a snowshoe bandit add while they were killing some daft chicken type thing. I ran towards them to get into range so I could mezz the little sucker ( see, I'm so kind hearted ). But they were already legging it back the the tk guards. I wandered off and came back about 10mins later ( in cover of trees ) and they were back. xping again on the same mobs. Now I was bored, and decided to head back to civilisation. I ran past them ( they are still fighting at this point ) stopped, turned around and waved. then carried on my way. They chased me and killed me ( even a green cons spear hero hurts ) and I had no appetite for the fight and sat for most of it ( free taxi back home ;).

From that day on, I kill them all on sight now. xping or not. They all die. My personal favourite is to sneak up just after they pulled and AE mezz them all. Then sit back and watch them die. If it looks like they wont xp die, I help out with my trusty hammer. Sure xp deaths suck, but you accept that in the frontiers you are unsafe. I don't want hibs xping in my frontier thankyou, and I will kill any alb or hib I see despoiling my beloved frontier. Or die trying.

It's war, pure and simple.

If I'm camping the gorge or similar I'll often leave greys alone. On the other hand anyone of any con in my frontier is fair game, expect no mercy ;)

As for RPs, I've had 28 RP off a grey, you can never tell... ;)

lvl 30 is minimum to hit keep doors

Greys don't seem to think twice about ganking players, so why think twice about killing them.

I don't deliberately hunt greys myself, as I'd rather get some better RPs, but if one walks infront of me and I've not got a better target....

i'm pretty evul, if i find a group of expers i'll probly wait till they pull and just kill their healers or something and see how they cope. I kill all annoying classes on site, savages bonedancers, necroes, all stealthers. but if i see a thane or an animist or something they'll probly live :)

IMO goto rvr whenever u want... if you have a good laugh (hiding from lvl50's ... getting killed .. dodging patrols ... maybe finding and fighting a enemy u may be actually to kill) then gogogogo for it..

tbh some of the most fun rvr i have ever had was when i was on my vv old scout when she was lvl26-27 . i used to goto emain and hide behind trees etc etc shooting at enemys (very purple) and missing tons of times or hitting for -10 dmge :) and then trying to run away and hide before they catcyh you was TONS of fun :) i remember shooting at a NP grp from behind a tree after they had killed some albs . one of the purples was very low on hp i shot him twice hit once and barely scratched him and missed 2nd arrow . i ran and managed to stealth n hide, then from out of nowhere Nolbypridepk (xanteatwats hunter) found me when i was stealthed and killed me then he /bow at me .

i occsionally foud peeps my lvl and had fun fights killed n got killed. never killed a high lvl but had a shit load of fun avoiding them etc etc . trying to sneak all the way to uppland or gorge was fun :)

This thread is a good indication of how the game has moved on since the early days. I miss the days of lvl 20-30's actually being able to do something in RvR

I feel I should save you from gimping yourself with that spec.
stealth - go max 35
Critical strike - go max 44

One spec i like is:
Sword 50
Critical strike 34
Stealth 35
Left Axe 20
Envenom 32

One more thing every assassin will eat you for breakfast if you go 2hander.

Good luck!

aye I can remember patrolling around Yggdra Forest back in the day with my first zerker, keeping the realm safe at lvl30-35 :) Some great fights.

Does seem a shame that that kind of thing is so much more difficult for newer players as that was definitely when most of my best RvR experiences were.
