The lamest thing people do on irc is this:

They go out on a Friday night (or maybe they pretend to) and then fall into IRC and type

"omgogmmogmg imm soo pihssed, mann i so utellry wsted"

followed by

"wft you lt on irc for?" without thinking they, too, are on IRC at that moment

"yur gekks and you shud me out geting dunkr"

pretentious, lame and why they feel the need to advertise to a room of mostly afk irc users that they are drunk is anyones guess.

Probably because it makes them feel "non-geek" by putting their fellow IRC users down that they're "cool" cos they get pissed like it's out of fashion!.
