Whats sad about goodbye threads?

Have fun IRL

Would this point that you find the person having no life cause he/she is playing a internet game?

Or:

Would this point to that this person would never play a game again just cause he/she left this particular game? Since he/she just got a life leaving a game

I just think the ppl who say hf IRL mean that he should have fun with RL, because now that he quits they might not talk to him anymore, and they wouldn't know wether he/she's gonna play another internet game.

plus we all know that online games can occasionally take over your free time (hence your life)

I tend to say "have fun in whatever you do" or something similar but the feeling behind the words is essentially the same regardless of the words themselves.

I think people sometimes say have fun IRL as a wish to the person leaving, since he or she is leaving, most likely it's because they don't have fun anymore with the game soooo.... they wish them to have fun IRL instead

What is really sad is that people that have left the game can not stop from posting things about a game they left. In general they use "QQ, nOOB, I played since Beta" in their post to make strong valid points. Then they have "/retired since YYYY.MM.DD" in their sig to seem like the do not care. To me it is seems more like a "ohhh my god please remember me, I was so l33t, this game must collapse as I quit, lets all sit in the famous we left DAOC sofa". That is sad!

yeah i know exactly what you mean, it sounds rather stupid when people say that, like when you start playing daoc you never go out of your house or talk to any friends again, total bs
