Stop being a nob Tohtori,

Why don't you just take the guy at face value where he says he goes for personality over looks?

What the f...he was claiming looks got nothing to do with his choices and i doubt anyone can be that, well...THAT.

I did take his opinion of "personality and that's it" as it was, and i'm not saying that's a bad thing, cudoes and all that, but he was the one who said my saying that "noone can say looks mean NOTHING" wasn't true.

And i've yet to hear anyone say that i'm wrong in that matter, after explaining how deep that claim must go to ring true.

I think they mean to the non-extremes tohtori - like Naetha explained above.

Yes but killswitch was saying that in an extreme case also. Atleast that's the picture i got from claiming looks have nothing at all to do with peoples choices. Which is bull.

well yes obviously looks mean something, its human nature. we find a partner who we like because we think they will supply good genes for a new baby. but they are NOT everything. i feel this personality thing maybe a 'new' trait in humans. and by new i dont mean just last year we started doing it, but i think it definatley came after the going for looks thing.

Long time i've had to LOL at something X)

On a side note, who else hates those stuck up fat b*tches who say "Why do you ignore me just 'cause i'm fat!" and then get all pissy princess when you say "'cause i don't like to get myself a fat chick, personal preference." :D

Ultimately, no-one will be able to be in a relationship with someone they are not attracted to on a physical level? All that varies is peoples tolerance of physical ideals. If you can be attracted to a person, it doesn't matter what that person is like. Personality is important, no doubt. But looks (here known as "attraction") are just as important. All that divides us is what we find attractive surely?

Tho, if you get to know the person and talk to them some. Your perspective of them is bound to change, mostly for the better.

Right...serious answer...let's see if this gets any comments;

1) Personality

That's it...if I get talking to someone and we hit it off, that's all I'm bothered about. :)

As with the guy who mentioned pulse (with or without e??

Except here you go for not unconcious :D

2: Looks - (have to have some "show" value. As in, don't want to show friends chewbacca or wake up next to one)

you know, i've always found this point interesting. you seem and post like a guy who dont care what people think but this point shows completly otherwise. why would we care how the people see our love? if they find her ugly, so what? i agree, looks are very much important as well as for yourself as for showing off...

Ofcourse i don't care what other think, but i'm not one to go out of my way to dress/act/date someone to get people going "ooh, look at that!" or "How dare he!". Not caring what other people think and acting as if other people don't exist, are two different things.

If i fell in love with a chewbacca, or a tonkatruck, i would be in love and wouldn't care what other people said, and if my friends couldn't support it, i wouldn't call them my friends. But since i have a certain face/look limit myself(not wanting to wake up next to a non-barf unit is normal enough i believe), this probably will never be an issue.

why the fuck are repeating the same thing for a whole page and a bit of the thread?

yes ffs, we know looks matter TO A POINT. if you are not sexually attracted to someone in someway, you wont go past being friends. WE ALL KNOW THAT. but the beauty is in the eye of the beholder and usually if someones personality is making you tingle, you will start realising bits and bobs of the person look sexy.

so yes ffs, can we stop it now and move on the discussion? zzz

Looks:

1) Skinny, the belly has to be fuckin tight (or how do you say it in english?) but I don't mind abit more fat on the legs/ass
2) Cute face
3) Ass
4) Boobs, I prefer small boobs
5) Dresscode

Personality, obviously the most important.

Gotta love threads like these, some of the posts (but by no means all) reinforce most of the common negative male steroetypes and goes a long way to explain why some of my female friends have an all 'men are c*&^s@ attitude...

Looks are not the be all and end all of things. They fade, diminished by time. Ok, as was put so elloquently earlier, dating Chewbacca isn't really anyone's first choice. The reality is, looks do have a significant part to play in the initial attraction stage of any relationship but this has to be balanced with personality traits too. If you're with someone you want to 'paper bag' every time you look at them or throttle everytime they speak then you're in trouble...

However, *IF* you're lucky enough to spend a significant number of years with someone you want to be with, you'll find looks do get less and less important as personality traits shine through (unless you really are just that shallow)...

Having said all that, I am a bloke, when I notice any lass while out and about I make the same snap judgements as everyone else and when window shopping, personality can't really factor as you don't interact with most of them...

If I have to define my judging criteria based solely on looks I'd probably go for:

Face
Height
Weight
Presentation
Boobs

If she's got less facial hair than me, not got a face for radio, is over 1.60m (ideally 1.7m ish), curvy/slim is fine just not excessively so either way, takes some pride in her appearance but doesn't go OTT then I'm usually favourable...

Boobs is just a shallow, superficial man thing. Flat women have never 'done it' for me for some reason, as long as they're there and noticable I'm happy.

I agree to an extent yet I just don't see how you could make love/have sex/engage in anything sexual with a girl who didn't turn you on so to speak.

There has to be a strong physical attraction between people too - or relationships will break apart - you see it in Dear Deidre and on Jeremy Kyle all the frickin time. For some people, as wrong as it may be, boobs and bum are the make all and end all of this attraction. Cnuts they are - but they do have a point - since that initial attraction will often decide how you see them from then on.

Because some people claimed otherwise. And for some reason, huntingtons now seems adamant on "wronging" me too.

It didn't, it did in MY post. Where the f*ck do people get this "I didn't say that!" attitude like everything i say is a direct quote from them.

It was meant as a point to what i'm saying.

I don't care about peoples opinions, but i don't go out of my way to make a fool of myself(in other words, acting like they don't exist).

i just feel that you contradict yourself by saying that looks matter as a showoff to your mates (and other stuff) but you dont care what people think of you.

Looks don't matter, if i care for someone, but as it is, i care for looks.

Also it's, as i said, a different thing to care about what other people think, and not acknowledge that other people are pointing/laughing at you. In other words, making a fool of yourself is no aim.

Though still curious on where i said i don't care what my friends think...

this might just be me but i read this as other people being everybody execpt yourself.
in reality if you dont care what other people think you wont be making a fool of yourself. you only became the fool if you take their mock with you.

Well ofcourse i care what my friends think, otherwise i could just f*ck 'em off and be done with 'em. You're always interested in other peoples(in your life) opinions, what they think and then you take those opinions and decide if you act on them.

Also, if i say "i don't care what other people think", doesn't mean that i like to look like a fool. And that is where your opinion differs. You do look like a fool, no matter if you take it into yourself or not. Then it becomes a matter of caring or not caring about it.

If i look like a fool by accident, i accept it, but don't mind/stress about it. But i don't put on horsesh*t, pink panties and go running around town just "because i don't care".

which is my point, you do care :p

Which is a bullsh*t point.

I don't care if things happen, or what stranger think of me if things do happen. Nor do i care what ANYBODY thinks of who i am, what i look like as a personal preference. The women i date, ofcourse i take my friends opinions into consideration.

But I don't go out and make a deliberate fool of myself.

Different f*cking points.

I COULD go out in pink panties and horsh*t and not care, but i won't, 'cause i don't feel like getting laughed/oogled at at the moment.

I wouldn't "go for" anyone...I certainly wouldn't go and start talking to a random stranger. So it would be whoever I was there with and whoever I got introduced to or whoever came and talked to me and looks, seriously, wouldn't be an issue. If there were 2 woman and one was "fine" and one was "rough", if I enjoyed talking to the rough one more, the fine one would be getting ignored.

No-one ever believes me...bastards!

you wouldent start talking to a total stranger?
so you wouldent start chatting up a woman on a deli counter while you were buying some cheese?

No, never!

To be fair, I had to speak to you in order to buy cheese in the first place. So by the time we "got talking" you weren't a total stranger...

Wouldn't doesn't have an "e" in it either :p

Also, less bumping old threads!

lol yes looks do come in to it but what i find sexy someone else may not, that my bf thinks im lovely (shows how bad his eyesight is rofl) but someone else thinks im orrible its all fine however...

you go for this beautiful creature they have the perfect personality and you love their looks, you think theyre perfect...skip ahead 2 or three years, they have a cold and are laying in bed bubbling snot from every hole in their face, eyes all crusted up with yellow stuff and a mountain of used tissues the size of everst by the bed, yes you still love em.... this really shows that looks dont count.

you love them for who they are, now then if its just a quick tumble in the hay then id take angelina jolie or denise richards...pam anderson if i had to (yeah yeah i like purty gals so sue me!)
