What will it take for America to change its spots in YOUR eyes?

Regardless of whether it's Kerry or Bush tomorrow (although, thankfully, it looks like Kerry's shading it at the moment).

For me? I'd like to see the US ratify the Kyoto treaty.

The reason? Well - Iraq and terrorism's a dead issue - there's not a chance in hell that a different tack will be taken in the short term - and I can't see the US leaning on Israel in the long term, or supporting the many UN resolutions simply because the Jewish lobby's too strong.

So it's down to the environment. World's biggest polluter - which has always told the world to fuck off because they really don't give a fuck (in effect) - needs to turn around and face up to it's responsibilities on the world stage.

Monopolising, making the world fat with fast food, war, mullets, inbred hicksville twats from Deliverance. They'll keep exporting them all. And good luck to 'em. But they need a step change somewhere along the line to even slightly soften an ever growing worldwide hatred of the fat fucks :)

Anyone?

Catsby doesn't understand why the most powerful economy (and military) in the world has to "change it's spots" at all.

But Catsby would like to see what the US will do with it's National Debt. Catsby recommends selling it on ebay.

Let the americans worry about their national debt.

Worry about the UK national Debt instead

In all honesty I think America should leave it's spots well alone. It's ours that need Biactol.

I've never cared about America before. I don't care about America now. America is America to me, spots or not.

All we have to do is wait. In 20 years time they will all be so obese they won't be able to move. Then they'll become extinct like Dodos, except Dodos were useful. Southerners are the fucknuts, shag their sisters and then go out "queer bashing", strange.

I was in Palm Springs and then Vegas this year, and although it was a decent holiday - the USA is overrated imo. All I could feel was fear/intimidation when there, everywhere I turned there were slogans rooting for the soliders in Iraq, every TV channel and news article was dominated by "post 9/11" or Iraq, all the radio stations had dedications to the soldiers in Iraq. I went on holiday to get away from it all and I just got fucking bombarded with it when I got there. I suppose they are a nation at war, so perhaps if i don't wanna suffer it again I should go to the south of France :p.

I'm utterly sick of hearing about it.

We've been through this before, and generally everyone decided that we all like Catsby and is talking in the third person.

Catsby is much amused by your self depreciating humour.

But, the important truth of the matter is that Catsby does like to take "Ham on a Stick (tm)" on holiday with him, as it is easier to deal with than a life companion.

Not to sound strange, but I like Catsby hes one of those people you always remember on these forums like TDC or Bodhi, names that pop up all the time. Plus if he is a reply service I want one for my answering machine at home.

They should give us back the English language and call their version something else. Also should stop screwing up my google searches and make up their own place names, and stop making films where Americans save the world, and get rid of Starbucks.

America is the most powerful country in the world, it's actions effect everyone and everything. People in this country should care, because sooner or later we're going to pay for the current administrations lack of regard for the Enviroment, Economy and everyone who isn't doing them a favour.

I can't understand why in this day and age people are so apathetic about it all. I know there's nothing that can be done directly, but greater awareness helps.

Well. With Bush getting back in my wants have been sort of dashed - although I read somewhere today that Kerry wouldn't have ratified Kyoto anyway.

What pisses me off is that the first thing I heard after hearing that Bush got in was that he was going to agressively pursue oil drilling in the Arctic.

Twat or what?

I'm not some lefty environmentalist (I couldn't be with the amount of greenhouse gas my ass makes) but I wouldn't be surprised if the next thing would be him targetting the antarctican oil and gas reserves....

Anyway. I've been on holiday in the US too - stayed at a friends who was living out there. I found them to be very friendly, occasionally very intelligent but in general fucking pig thick and ignorant. ALL the stereotypical jokes you make about Americans did actually happen to me out there (Where's england? Do they speak english in England?(from a waitress), England? Is that near London? (from someone in a bank) and, my favourite, Well? are you gonna thank us for winning The War [tm] for you? (from 3 blokes and a bird in a bar, who I got very shirty with)).

I had a great time. Got laid lots (because of the accent). Was glad to get home. My mate followed 6 months after :)

How about supporting peace in the middle east and stop protecting Isreal to start with and force them into a peace treaty with palistine.

Things don't bode well for the USA, and in turn us as well. As we are so tied to what ever the usa does these days we are tarred with the their actions. Instead of quelling what should have been terrorism we have just incited a whole new nation into terrorism (iraq dissidents) whilst not even rooting out al-quaeda yet.

I think it's gonna get a whole lot worse for everyone before it gets better ... 9/11 was just the start of it now.
