Enya was the female lead singer of Clannad - a Celtic Folk group that had hits in the 1980s. She enjoyed a successful solo career in the 1990s

Musical Youth was an adolescent black British reggae band that had about 2 hits

Culture Club was a semi-gay band that had hits in the 1980s but were famous for Boy George (who was recently arrested and charged with drug offences). He was one of the first mainstream gay singers dressed in make up . Karma Chameleon was quite catchy actually ;-)
